I have to say, you are all doing, and have done, amazing work in this thread.
I originally joined this forum because of all of the business and high praise coming from here. However, since joining I have become motivated myself to get back into shape and stop letting myself go.
So I hope to be posting some pics as well as progress over the next 6 months as I hope to trannsform my body.
btw, how much can I really hope to achieve in 6 months? I am essentially skinny-fat weighing ~180lbs and 6'0. As a newbie would you guys say 6 months is enough time to get very lean and put on some muscle?
Both realistically and ideally, I hope to shed around 5-9 lbs of fat a month while putting on about 2-3 lbs of actual muscle per month. I just hope I'm not being delusional with these goals haha.
Regardless, I hope to be posting my pics in here withing 6 months and again next summer for MDW after 1 year.

That's a bit unrealistic, at least in terms of muscle gains while simultaneously losing 1-2 pounds a week of fat. At best you could gain 2-3 pounds of muscle a month on a calorie excess. And you could probably lose 2 pounds on a month on a calorie deficit. But I don't think there's a way to achieve both goals at the same time, at least not in the numbers you are talking about.

Salsa, Cravings post and Random thoughts.
Sometimes I want to sit some of you down with truth serum and ask a serious question about La Salsa. After being in the **** can of cutting/ losing weight/ being a gym rat after being sedentary for six years. Knowing what I know from my 20's, knowing what I know now, and just knowing what I know about fitness and nutrition and having friends that are pro health nuts I call shenanigans on some of you.
Also someone is posting about cravings I mean what are you eating. If I want ice-cream I make a protein shake with ice. I usually make mine with banana, 1 scoop whey isolate, almond milk, cinnamon, vanilla. Add ice and you can simulate ice-cream flavor. For Chocolate dont use vanilla, use dark chocolate cocoa powder. Good stuff Ghiardelli works. Its doesnt add many calories but adds so much flavor. Obviously ice-cream is my big weakness.
Whats you poison Im an ex-cook who has been able to simulate different flavors to curb cravings.
Also no matter if you are cutting or clean bulking for me what helps is a cheat day. I mean we are not pros, IFBB, we are fat to fit pros. Ive been hard on myself so have all of us, lets applaud our successes and not focus on 6% BF as much. Slow and steady wins the race. I mean Ive gone from 290 to 238, Im still iffy, I think, everyone at the gym says I look amazing. Me I think if I sit a certain way I look like a ball. Yes I focus on that ****, but I try to take what my peeps say and use that as motivation to keep going.
I want to rep everyone who is making strides. Sorry I dont post much so here go a couple shout outs (sorry Ive made names for you guys) the Redhead from Canada with glasses that likes doods with tats, nice legs, the dood with the stringy goatee Psycholic I think, thanks for the support brah, and nice job. The girl with the pink top and blue undies, or is it blue top and pink undies, you look super athletic. Guy with ex-puffy nipples, nice, I know it took five years, but still nice ****ing work. The post old man with a hat and glasses and now superjacked yolked out loco with caveman legs, I bow to your amazingness sir. The Brit with the UnionJack tattoo, just clean bulk youll be fine. If you gain a little BF but gain 20lbs muscle it will be worth it. The guy that wants to gain like 2-3lbs muscle and lose 1-2lbs of fat at the same time. When you find out how, bottle that **** up and apply for an Alfred Nobel in Biological Science. You will win.
I think that is everyone I remember.
So there is no way I can do this and have French wine and foie gras with loin of rabbit and chanterelles? Really...
Okay...so is there another trainer I can talk to?
No matter how overweight or out of shape Ive become, I still run 26.2 miles at least once a year. If I can do it, whats your excuse. I run for sanity :)
