I just got SKYRIM...what are you top suggestions? Best weapon? Best armor?

So i just got the game for xmas eve.

im looking to get as close to 1000 cheevos as possible. any suggestions or tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

you'll pretty much ruin your experience if you do that crap right off the bat. You'll figure out what's best by exploring, that's the point. The best class is whatever you want it to be.


Daedric has the best armor and weapons. Go on youtube if you want to learn how to spam skills, there's a plethora of videos available to you.

from what advice i have read in the main thread, a reputable member who had played a lot of hours suggested to go mage, because everything that can be had in the other classes can be worked towards whilst being a mage anyway, but its not so easy to become proficient in magic for example if you go the other two classes. The advice he gave for a mage class was to not deposit many points into health because if you are wearing robes, they offer no protection anyway.

I went a nord mage lol strong combination i know i am pretty noob at these games, played oblivion for a bit until my ps3 crapped out. I have been levelling my one hand proficiency, but recently (level 14 now) i have taken the same guys advice and saved my perks until you really know how you want to spend them because currently i have no idea and want to make the most of them. I have 5 saved for the moment. Each time you level up you get to choose an attribute to advance, health, magicka or stamina as well as a perk, just exit the menu after you desposit your attribute point if you want to save them. That way you can play the game and learn about it a bit before you make any choices in that regard.

Honestly though, i am like 16 hours in and have barely scraped the surface of this game. I am playing it on expert which i think is a good difficulty. Many quests are really hard as well as some wild beasts in rougher areas. This actually gives incentive to make you do side quests so you can level up before attempting quests that would be very hard otherwise, unless you were playing on easy. I just feel its how you get the most out of the game, if i had it on easy i know i could of just chomped my way through the entire quest line without really thinking about what i was doing. I am enjoying every minute of it, its a beautiful game.

Train heavy armor and smithing, make daedric weapons and armor - it's beast.
Train your enchanting and get perks to enchant weapons and armor, very useful as you can have extra damage and protection.

I recommend taking High Elf, but only if you're interested in using magic. I'm a high elf but I have a good balance of skills, have a lot of perks with thief related skills as well as magic and comabt.
