S II or Nexus and why? (4.6 K reps)
Debating which one I should get. S II is $50 cheaper on my network and I like the look of it and its camera better than Nexus
but I keep hearing Nexus is superior overall
which one should I go for brahs?

The only thing that makes Nexus superior to any other phone at the moment is the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system which it has an exclusive window on for the next few weeks. Once all of the other phones get it, it for the most part will be no different than the other high end android phones. If you want Ice Cream Sandwich now (really it isn't all that great/different), then get the Nexus. Otherwise save the $50 and just wait for the S2 to get the update at the beginning of 2012
For me it was an easy decision in the states, I waited several months for the S2 but once Verizon decided they weren't going to sell it, I had to wait for the Nexus. Otherwise I'd be an S2 owner right now

What
Nexus. Even if other devices get ICS, ICS was optimized for the SGN. Processor, gpu, etc.
It's the newest device out there so I'd say go for it.

my S2 has NFC. granted it's not fully enabled but it's built into the phone.

Oh I just looked it up, all Australia ones don't have NFC but i think you guys might in the US. May as well have one advantage to compensate for the 6 month delay.

You just can't pass up the price of the s2 compared to the nexus.
$35 a month difference, I mean thats $840 in a two year period and i'll probably be able to upgrade to a nexus 12 months in anyway for the same price.
The nexus just isn't that much better to warrant the difference.

Nexus. Its a pure Google phone, update will get pushed to it first always.
Also app are made and tested on the nexus series so they always run them smoother.
The camera isnt that bad. May not be as good as the SII's but has the no shutter lag which is sick

What does the price of a phone in Australia have to do with an American buying a phone in America??
OP has stated the price difference is $50

I'll reiterate for you. The nexus just isn't that much better to warrant the difference in price.
Thats what it has to do with an American buying a phone in America. The extra info was just giving a price comparison with other countries, Extra information is never a bad thing and other Australians may of been interested.
Don't be that guy dude... Nobody likes that guy.

$50 is not alot of money, $840 IS. Your post is misleading as no country was stated. It reads like your telling him to take the Australia deal of $29 a month.
ICS a few months early alone is worth this price.

This.
They're already Alphas of ICS out for the S2. Will only be a few weeks till you get a stable release. I think it'll be a better phone than the Nexus by then.

Got my nexus this morning, cannot stop playing with it. Can't believe I've been holding out on android for this long. It makes my old blackberry look like a piece of shet oh wait it is a piece of shet.
