Felt horrendous yesterday evening, so tired, blocked head and sore throat and that coldsore tingly feeling. Early night and woke up with a bit blocked up. Feeling tired again today so having a rest. Just eating to help me recover. Weight has been stable around 140-141 all week; expected bloat for this time and given I'm run down. Hoping to gym twice this weekend.

So did I. Felt totally drained and rough all weekend. Since Friday AM I felt so exhausted. I just ate what I wanted and slept 12 hrs 2 nights in a row.
Lately I just keep getting these run down symtoms and never a full blown cold. So annoying as they seem to hang around for a while. I made fresh cinnamon rolls yesterday an did nothing else other than sit around and eat and drink whatever I fancied.
Woke up feeling good today so gym it was!

Getting my bloodwork done today, earlier than planned but thyroid-like symptoms are really showing a presence again. Didn't sleep until silly o'clock this AM - had some issues with sleep lately but nothing this bad. Other symptoms have been creeping back but thought they were because I was just run down.
Dry skin all over - especially flaky legs
Spots
Hair coming out again
Sleep problems
Thirst
Sore throat in AM sometimes
Tiredness at weird times
Not sleeping well
Night sweats on and off
Digestion issues (I eat a fair chunk of salad and vegetables... fibre isn't exactly lacking!)
Struggling to get up in the mornings
Craving for sugary foods
Anxiety
Stress
Cold all the time - even in the gym!? List goes on....
Getting test done as well as full thyroid panel. I think it being winter and very cold here might have something to do with it; might need to up my dose. Anyway here's hoping something comes of this.
Grand plan:
Sunbeds
Vitmain D
Hopefully up my dose!

1hr10 sauna.... Took 15-20mins to start sweating; odd!
Feel a LOT better; probably the warmth. 143lb post dinner pre sauna and 142.2lb post sauna. Useful to know for the future!
Also for those with stretch marks - posts TMI but you know after a while in a steam room/sauna you can exfoliate a lot of skin? Mine was coming off lots on my thighs (saddlebag/ass and inner thighs - where I have stretch marks) and not so much elsewhere. I know European stems rooms provide salt for this purpose.
Feeling nicely relaxed now anyway

wakechica, those symptoms sound awful. They just embody the absolute worst aspects of winter and then some, I really hope you are feeling better soon. Glad that the sauna helped. 1 hour 10 minutes and .8 lbs? That is good to know for the future, but I thought it would be a little more water loss? I thought people were able to drop several pounds by trapping themselves in a steaming bathroom or sauna for like 20 minutes at a time. Maybe not, .8 is still good though. Your relaxing sauna and exfoliation session sounds heavenly, you must feel like a new woman

those symptoms sound pretty bad :/ . . . i assume you're getting tested for vitamin D as well? it can cause a lot of ickiness, too.

The sauna had only been on for 2hrs so probably wasn't quite as hot as it could have been. I'm going to go turn it on now to warm up for tonight and go again, I slept so well afterwards.
Miranda, I know I live in a grey country with little sun but considering I do take vit D i shouldn't be *that* depleted - and I was in a hot country only a few weeks ago so stocked up I just don't feel I should constantly have to take various vitamins and supplements daily to feel good, I just wish my body would fix itself! My diet is good all round containing lots of good foods which contain what I need (obs not vit d hah). I don't think they tested for vit D - it's not a common test over here. I have upped my dose just in case and will probably sun bed a couple of times this week too. Hopefully results in tomorrow. I have had other symptoms too (been pretty bad the last few weeks) just didn't want to post everything as this ain't a medical forum!

Turns out only 50% of the sauna heater is working (sat on the otherside and it's a lot cooler.....) hence why I probably took forever to sweat and didn't lose that much water weight.
Anyway.
Workout:
Squat
10@20, 30
5@40, 50
3@60
4x2@70
Bench
5@25, 30, 40
4x2@45
2x5 GHRs
Some -ve pulls then just hit the wall.
Meh.
PTs said I looked skinny as well... maybe should up cals? Thoughts? Just add 100 and see?

Sauna is sooo amazing. Is yours infrared? I srsly cannot function without any more. Glad you're feeling better enough to get back in the gym. I have a family history of thyroid issues so I'm somewhat familiar with how tricky they can be to sort; keep pushing your doctors, they are often slow to change things enough to make a difference (at least the ones around here).

So blood results are in!
TSH 1.72 (0.27 - 4.20) - could be lower
T4 23.7 (11.0 - 22.0) - has been on the increase
T3 4.6 (4.4 - 8.8) : Very low end (lower than normal)
Test 1.1 (0.2- 1.7) Normal BUT less free test could be available to tissues due to high SHBG
SHGB <220 (26 - 110)
White blood cell total 6.0 (4.0 - 11.0)
Neutrophile white blood cell 2.0 (2.2 - 8.0) LOW
So seeing the doctor tomorrow. I've just been put on a higher Estrogen BC - which I'm not entirely sure how that will affect my SHBG count? This has been high before.
Ohh what's an IR sauna? Sounds nice
Aww thanks, yeah I keep on plugging, the endorphins make me feel better for a bit. I can never sleep after working out though
ETA: My research would appear to tell me that basically I am spinning my wheels medically. Probably why I never seem to get anywhere.Last edited by wakechica; 01-30-2013 at 10:37 AM.

So the more digestible outcome/plan rather than boring figures
Taking the rest of this week off lifting, will likely lift on Sunday if feeling better.
Eating what I want this week, no tracking.
Coming off BCP for at least 4 months - see if I get any changes. Might make it permanent.
Being booked in to see an Endocrinologist.
And some good body images that I like to keep some motivation going
Jessica Ennis - best abs
Carmelita Jeter - Shoulders/Arms
Allyson Felix - Legs/GlutesLast edited by wakechica; 01-31-2013 at 06:31 AM.

Makes a difference from fitness models and BBers There are a lot of female athletes out there who are much better body role models for the younger generation. There was an article out after the Olympics where Jess Ennis said she disliked the amount of muscle she had - I was like WTF? She look HAWT.
Anyway I've eaten so much food today. I feel a bit better... Like I wanna go hit a deadlift PR or something so I may break my no lifting rule

Right after declaring i wasn't going to lift until Sunday, I blatantly lied and went to the gym and JUST did deadlifts, and not even much
50x10
60x5
80x5
100x2
110x1
120x1
125x1 NEW PR!
Then I went on the elliptical for 5 minutes then walked back home. I had to do something, I have eaten so much crap today and sat on my a$$

Basically what it sounds like - heated with infrared waves rather than a standard heater. Supposedly much more healing for your muscles and better for detoxification. You do sweat about twice as much in one of those, I've noticed (potentially useful for those trying to cut water). I don't know if I'd go out of my way to find one but they're all the rage around here right now.
275 DL?!? That's fricking awesome. You should be seriously proud of that.training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=153696161&page=51
