    Abdominal Strain?

It all started this past summer; I got an intense abdominal muscle cramp after completing a set of decline crunches. It went away after a few seconds, but it was quite painful. This has gradually escalated, and right now, I can't even complete one set of any kind of ab exercise without fear of cramping. Luckily it doesn't happen during other exercises that require abdominal strength, but I can't hit my abs directly anymore. I've ruled out dehydration and potassium deficiencies; I'm thinking it's an abdominal muscle strain (although there isn't really any pain other than when the cramping starts). Has anyone else had this problem? And this may be a dumb question, but would it be beneficial to wrap my abdomen to let my muscles rest?

It would be beneficial to go to the doctor's man. A lot of stuff can be fixed before it's too late. What you explain is definitely not normal.
