Some idiot delivering packages found a gun on my property and blew his hand off. I came home from class right after and there was blood everywhere! Now he's trying to sue me, I'm in a rented house and have absolutely nothing to my name except a decent truck.
What can I do? Shouldn't it be his fault for ****ing around with my property(the gun) on my property (the land?)

If you stand in a place where you know in your heart things are wrong, most things around you will never be right.
Rule number one, never work at being what another man defines as being "honorable", Honorable is is being true to what you know and and doing what you know is right for you..

Just because he is a moron doesn't really protect you. If you had a pool, and some kid hopped your fence and drowned in your pool, regardless of the fact that the kid is at fault for hopping the fence and trespassing, you're getting sued.
I am not a lawyer by any means, so I don't really know how your situation will play out, but I don't think it'll be a case of "dude's an idiot for shooting off his own hand." The only thing I see helping you is you renting the place vs. owning it. The owner might be at risk here. Unless it's your gun and you left it out there, then yea you might be fcuked.

^ pool story is invalid if you have a fence with a locking gate. if they hop the fence you aren't liable because you went to decent lengths to keep your pool private. ****ty troll story though, not impress.

There is no homeowners insurance, and I'm renting from my grandparents. My grandpa called me telling me the guy was trying to sue
Ok I know it sounds unbelievable but there were a bunch of contractors at my house that week and I couldn't find my pistol which is always in the same room as I unless leaving the house. I was about a day away from reporting it stolen but my long rifle is still here so i hesitated. I'm pretty sure the contractors were ****in with it and put it in the garage, which is where the packages where, which is probably where the gun is.
As for shooting himself, the gun was locked loaded and ready to fire, just squeeze the trigger. Apparently he picked it up with 2 hands like a retard and shot his hand with a .45acp hollowpoint (lol)
