    Bench/ Seated Military Form Query

    Hey guys,

I haven't been on here in a long time and I apologize if I asked a very commonly asked question on here.

Currently when benching and doing seated military press (whether with dumbless or barbell), I have been doing down a little bit past 90 degrees, 80-85 degrees, and I would like to know if this is acceptable. I feel like I am getting great contractions and I am no longer getting the shoulder pains that I used to in the pasted, especially after tearing some tendons in my left shoulder.

I realize that for competitions you have to go all the way down to make the lifts count, but by only going down to like 80 degrees (on arms), are my lifts still valid? I take pride in my lifts and I don't want to cheat myself.

    Thanks for your time everyone!!!!

I really don't follow the whole degree thing.

A full bench press = touching the chest.
A full overhead press= bar touching the upper chest.

Take that and do what yo want with it.
