Haha, they're messing with you. Here's the real deal. In Ontario, the weather is just like New York or Michigan, which is cold, snowy winters, crisp and clear springs, hot and humid summers and beautiful autumns. The Golden Horseshoe from just East of Toronto all the way around Lake Ontario to Niagara Falls is the most populated place in the country, and although $50,000 won't get you far in Toronto, places like Hamilton, St. Catharines etc have affordable housing and great communities. Whatever job you're doing there that's getting you $50,000 will get you $70,000 here, though. Canadians tend to get paid better, although it's offset by higher cost of living.
Plus, our mixed economy leans toward socialism, so we get quality, free healthcare, excellent infrastructure and education, as well as the ridiculously low crime you've heard about.286 lbs - March 11, 2019 (started Keto)

Hello from Edmonton, Alberta. I work in the Alberta oilfield and construction sometimes. I went to university back in BC; UBC. Work 12-15 hour days typically, so it's hard to eat right and have time for training. Social life is down the ****ter.
I Started lifting in June 2013 when I worked up in Fort McMurray. Here's a before and after. After pic is from roughly a month ago, more up to date one on my BodySpace.Last edited by forthewinwin; 11-10-2014 at 01:50 PM.

Who hates Edmonton? Most of Canada's cities are great, I'm not sure what there is to hate. Except for Mississauga; that city has the character and class of a restaurant in an industrial complex. Mississauga is Canada's biggest hodgepodge of outlet malls, industrial areas and Me-too-subdivisions.
