Just went to Goodlife to ask about membership pricing, and they're asking for $220 for a 3 month (summer) membership. Or I can do $22/biweekly then pay a $99 contract termination fee. Why is wanting to work out so pricey?

I go to a mom & pop gym, think it was in the $500's (just weights/machines no cardio. they have split up the fee's). It's a great gym, not too busy and the people who go there take an interest in fitness etc. Just need to remember to not use chalk if the couple that owns the gym is there lol. My old gym was premier fitness and I would get a years membership for 300 bucks, was awesme. The gym was falling into pieces and after they renovated/were bought out, prices went up.
