Interesting.... what are these permits exactly? You go to school for a few years beforehand to get them or something? Or is simpler than that?
No a permit hand is a person who has a trade ticket or is a registered apprentice who does not belong to the union hall but still recieved a dispatch to work for a company under our contract. Usually hired when all members are working already and the hall cannot fill a call.
Being weak is a choice. So is being strong.

That's fine. So bench press day you get to feel good about yourself for being stronger than a man almost twice your age that was cursed with phcuked up shoulders.
But every other day I get to yell at you: "DO YOU EVEN LIFT???"
I'll admit you can blow me out of the water in squats, but deads if I trained them consistently, I think I could do just as much as you....if not more!

I pulled 550 in Dec. Going for a 6 plate pull this year. Wanna race?

If you have skills, you can get a good job. If you have none but are willing to work, you can get A job, but it might not pay well. Living expenses are atrocious here as well so keep that in mind. You're looking at $900/month to rent a room in someone's house :-P Most of the work camps are pretty good if you go that route.
And I just got word that all the gas stations in town are out of fuel because the highway has been closed.......*sigh* Welcome to Fort McMurray
I was going to head out to do some roofing but ya Living expensives are ATROCIOUS especially if you are working from sun up to sun down. What are you paying for. Can make some great money but at the same time you are throwing a lot of it away>
American guy here, always had an interest towards heading to French Canada. Heard people there are a bit more easygoing and that Toronto and those areas are really similar to America.
eyy there canadians. im sleeping in the calgary airport tonight, waiting for my flight back to murica tomo morning. just saying i really like the leather chairs compared to other airports uncomfortable stuff that you cant get comfy on.
^^ interesting I never really realized it was a good place to wait.
Happy Monday all, may the force be with you this week! I spent a good amount of time on the weekend basking in the glow of hockey being back and then I had a good workout last night. Since I bumped up my calories I think its helping my bench press get unstuck as a side effect. Maybe it's just coincidence but either way l'll take it.

Move to Ottawa...best of both worlds! If you work in IT...it's also a hot job market.
But congrats. It's a good day when I can toss around the 80's for 5-6 reps.
Shoulder day tomorrow. Thanks for the humiliation....I mean inspiration.
Well I can do the 100's for 10-12 reps without a spot, but that extra 10 lbs seems to take it's toll on me haha. I find kicking them up is the hardest part.

Yep. And putting them down at the end is no easy task either.
I remember the first day I ever did seated DB press with the 120's. I was happy as hell.....until the owner of the gym came over and gave me **** for dropping the dumbbells at the end of my set.

Hahah he put you in your place!!
It's hard enough to find a gym around here with 120's, or else I'd be lifting those too lol. Not so much for shoulder press, but deffinitely incline. My goal is to someday beat my 140's on incline for 5. Try the 150's maybe?? lol

At the end of my shoulder program on Fridays I have one drop set of DB Shoulder Press of 8,8,8.....20lbs for the first 8 is tough as I am so gassed going in....yes i am a wimp.

Sounds like it's working for ya though Dee!
I did a few arnold presses after I did the 110's, but I only usually go up to 60's with those.

most people suck at shoulder press I have noticed. I always see threads in the misc "guys I shoulder pressed 60lbs for 5 reps"
and in the gym everyone grabs the heaviest dumbbells and can barely get the weight up and does quarter reps. After that, they don't put them down on their knee, they drop them from their ****ing shoulders.

Sounds like 95% of people who squat in commercial gyms.

I am totally doing a program that is outside my comfort zone that is for sure, but I am liking it. My focus on shoulders though are rear and mid delt as front is very dominant compared. Some of todays stuff included 4 exercises that were 4 sets of 25....400 reps....fak

Hey guys, what's up? Working backshift tonight and tomorrow night. Having 2 separate birthday parties for my little girl this weekend lol, families are so big we have to split it up. Hoping to get in some decent lifting on my days off though, working days 12 hr shifts is pretty much a write off, lucky to get my meals prepped let alone train.

Honestly I think anything over 80 for shoulder press (with proper form), is pretty impressive.
Also, I can see how people would call bull**** on me doing 110's (not that I think you are B-Neva), but I do pride myself in using proper form with all my lifts, lol.
I touch the dumbbells to my shoulders at the bottom of the rep and I touch the DB's together at the top or I don't count it as a rep.
Yes; old sk00l.
And yes; most people I see in the gym use 50% or less of this R.O.M.
hahahahaha there are two guys that are in every morning and I give them kudos for showing up everyday, but man to watch their partial reps is funny cause they think they are the bomb staying fit and going to the gym...lol
