Hi, I'm Mindy.
I have rolls and muffin top and that's enough bakery items I'm carrying around everyday. So, I decided to transform my bakery in 2012. 'Losing weight' has been always my New Year resolution and in 2012, I want to change it to 'losing fat'.
Little bit about me, I was always chubby as a child. Growing up I didn't know about nutrition, counting calories or exercise. I just liked to eat and I spent most of my time studying. I got good grades from school but I had low self-esteem because of my wt. About 10 years ago, I starved myself and lost over 80 pounds(lowest 125). I ran every day for an hour and lifted wt(not free wt) about 30 min x3 a week. I was so tired from all the cardio and ended up gaining wt to around 170. Then I would diet and lost wt and gained the wt back. This cycle kept on going over 10 years now.
My goals are 1) bf of 20%, 2) run 10K in 60 min, 3) complete P90X program and overall, be HAPPY.
I know it takes time and determination to accomplish all these. I read a lot of info in BB.com and I am ready to lose fat in healthy way and maintain my fat loss.
I will appreciate any advice, tips, and encouragement. I will be starting my P90X as of 26 December, 2011 and will take pictures and measurements on that day. Until then, I will be reading more about fitness and getting ready for the adventure of my life.
Thank you for reading.

Hi Mindy, welcome! I love your title. I have a similar background of being a chubby kid and young adult (I'm 49). My entire family is obese, I decided that was not going to be my fate. You can do it! I have been maintaining my weight with a few "oops" moments for the last 20 years or so. I have been a Weight Watcher for most of that time, sometimes eating more paleo/primal or bodybuilding style but still going to meetings no matter what. The "oops" moments happened when I quit going. Finding an exercise program you like and will be consistent with and a way of eating that you can maintain and find good health in is key.

Welcome Mindy!
Very creative title, made me laugh. You can do whatever you put your mind to. Don't get discouraged when things are 100% the way you planned, that's one very BIG lesson I learned!
Good luck with all of your goals!Current Log:

Today I weigh 156.4 from eating way over maintenance cal and not exercising as much. I went down to 149 a couple weeks ago and I am close to 160. Even though, I am not trying to get my emotion attach to the scale number, it bothers me if it goes in wrong direction.
I will just enjoy the rest of week walking in the mall shopping (lots of gifts to buy still). I will burn calories as long as I move around. Just don't stop at the food court ;-)2018 Oct/Nov/Dec Fat Loss and Motivation

One lesson I've learned along my long path of weight maintenance is I don't have to kill myself exercising as I thought I did. I've learned controlling the diet is far more beneficial to exercising off a bad diet because you can't!
I was in JC Penny at our mall yesterday and I swear Cinnabon had their ovens piped right into the store! It should be illegal to smell that good. I have this restaurant app on my droid that has a bazillion restaurants on it. So it's nice to be able to look up nutrition if I want to indulge, generally I look at it and don't! But once in a while, why not??! At least I can track it and move on.Julia

That's the place I was referring when I mention about the food court.
I was okay calorie-wise until lunch. But then, I walked my dog, Tira, almost 2 miles(total of 3.5 m so far) and got so tired and hungry, I came home and devoured all the food I can find at home.
Julia, so what is maintenance cal? Just curious...2018 Oct/Nov/Dec Fat Loss and Motivation

For me I can maintain this way: Mon-Fri I eat about 1500-1650 cals per day and on Sat & Sun about 2200-2400 a day. I like to have a flexible weekend for going out to dinner and my frozen yogurt so during the week I'm pretty rigid. I use FitDay as well as my Weight Watcher journal to track everything (granted on Sat who knows what's in some restaurant food, but that is one meal), I just figure as best as I can.
On Sunday afternoon I fix all my meals that I take to work (in an ice chest): 5 protein powder/vit supps mixture to make with milk after the gym, 5 lunches (usually 3-4 oz chicken breast with veggies or as a big salad), 5 afternoon snacks (normally 6oz of greek yogurt with almond butter and cinnamon). The only variables are breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is one of these: 40gr oats, 16gr pro powder and fruit or almonds or 2 eggs w/ 1 flax seed toast w/ almond butter or Kashi Go Lean with 1/2 cup milk & fruti or almonds or (like this morning) Greek yogurt with fruit and almonds and dinner is always a protein and lots of veggies and a 6 oz glass of red wine I am the queen of ziplock containers! I like not having to think about what I'm going to eat during the week. We don't eat hardly any processed food or many grain products. I do eat oats and maybe once a week I'll have the Kashi, but otherwise we're pretty low carb. I get about 135-145 gr of protein per day, 70-90 gr of carbs and the balance from fats. The flax seed bread I buy is only 50 cals per slice (naturally not because there is cr#p in it) and has 8 gr of carbs per slice. A loaf lasts us (hubby and me) about 1 1/2 weeks (good thing because it's expensive).Julia

Thanks, Julia for a reply.
Do (or did) you take any supp to lose fat or what is best appetite suppressant you used, if any? I am getting depressed by how much I've been eating lately. It seems that I am getting out of control. I was doing ok until Thanksgiving. I lost about 20 pounds since Aug. Now I feel I am stuck. That's the reason I am starting this journal to be accountable on my action towards a better me. But I am disappointed at myself right now. I hope I can get out of this bad attitude soon. I hate PMS. It will be raining the rest of week and it doesn't help my mood at all. I'm afraid I will be ... Idk.
I need to look motivational pictures. Maybe that will help me... crossing my fingers.2018 Oct/Nov/Dec Fat Loss and Motivation

The only supps (besides vitamins) I take is Gold Standard Natural Whey by ON. Never have liked the idea of a "fat burner". I think you have to be your own fat burner! I don't want heart palps or anything. Pills scare me! At 49, when I go to a new doctor or some medical person, they always ask what meds are you on? I say "none" and they are in shock! My blood pressure is generally 100/60.
The few times I have gotten into a funk where I gain weight and start feeling bad about myself, I've marched myself into Weight Watchers. It's terrible to gain 20 lbs back after 6 years (going on 7) at being LifeTime. But I knew it would only get worse if I didn't go. And the added motivation to stay at goal weight is you are FREE if you maintain that weight (within 2 lbs). Have you ever tried it (recently)? It could be a great help. You get motivation, group support and a sensible plan to follow. I have to say, the updated 2011 & 2012 version is way better than before so it's a good time to join. And NO, I do not work for WW
I wish we had some rain. We have had zero moisture this whole month. For the season our snow pack is at 10%. Last year at this time we were at 222%. I don't ski, but my husband does and he's waiting...Julia

The holiday season is hard on most people. It's the biggest eating feast of the year, from thanksgiving to christmas/whatever holidays you celebrate. Don't be depressed, just get back to it. See if you can find a program that you like. Something that you can look @ and not have to think too much - that works best for me. I see that you are thinking about P90X, I've heard a lot of good things about that program. Stick with it and don't let yourself give up. See if you can get out for a walk sometime during the day (although not if the weather is horrible).
Weight Watchers isn't a bad idea either, even if you just use it to get yourself kick started again. ANd from what I've seen the newer plans are much better than the old one I did. Bleh!
We haven't had rain in forever either, not that we get much. I can only dream of snow! Living in the desert has it's +'s and -'s.Current Log:

Maybe I should check WW out.
I am considering P90X since I don't have a gym membership. I did ChaLean Extreme(CLX) a couple years ago and I want to try something new. When I did CLX, I only followed not nutrition but exercise. Therefore I didn't get a good result except a little bit of muscle definition in my shoulder. When I start P90X, I will focus on my nutrition as much as my exercise. I hope I can complete the program. I will. I am planning to buy the P90X shirt for my reward if I finish it. It would be nice if I get great fat loss but more than that, I want to go thru the whole thing and see what I made of. I want to challenge myself because I am worthy. I want to love myself.
Sorry if I was too emotional...I'd better go.2018 Oct/Nov/Dec Fat Loss and Motivation

P90X Day 1
I finished my 1st day of P90X. I feel already my ab and arms. Hope I don't get too soar tomorrow.
After lifting, I did Elliptical for 25 min and walked my dog for 1.5 M.
Took a protein shake and am looking forward to having a good night sleep.
I did really well on nutrition. I will be on calorie deficit for two more days since I will be going out on Friday and New Year's Eve.2018 Oct/Nov/Dec Fat Loss and Motivation

Sounds like we're on the same eating schedule! We're going out Friday for a birthday and Saturday for NYE too!
I love walking the dogs. I can't get out the door with just one, so hubby has to come along too (which is hard to schedule sometimes). Once I was able to get out the door with just Genie (Chihuahua/Terrier mix) and she kept looking back as if to say "where's Abby?". Now that we have Bruizer, hubby handles Abby and I take both little ones (which are more of a handful than the retriever).Julia

Day 2 of P90X
Today's scheduled workout was Plyometrics. I wanted to run before P90X but didn't feel like it so, just jog/run with my dog 0.5M. Then, went down to my basement and sweated out. Plyometrics lasted about an hour and I followed a modified version. Right now, my hamstrings and inner thighs hurt. I know I will be walking like a grandma tomorrow. I always walk so slow whenever I work on my legs(Lunges/squats).

Day 3 of P90X
I was too tired to do P90X yesterday from other cardio session earlier. So I decided to do it this morning. I usually do TurboFire in the morning but I am glad I did P90X instead. On Tuesday(Chest & Back), I did so many push-ups and the right shoulder and my wrists were hurting all week. I had right shoulder pain before P90X and I wonder it aggravated more. I need to find alternate way to do push-ups so that I complete this program without the injury.
Since I tried to eat low carb and low cal until tonight, I noticed that I really need to up my carb intake while on this program. I will do 40C:30P:30F even though the program suggest otherwise.
I need to do Yoga X this afternoon and I am right on schedule. I probably run outside before that since it will be nice today. Also, it will help me to reach my goal; weigh 150 on NY.2018 Oct/Nov/Dec Fat Loss and Motivation

What?! I weigh this morning 155. I went to Texas de Brazil last night and pigged out. That's 3 pounds wt gain and my goal for NY's day is 150. I don't think I can lose 5 pounds in one day whether it is water or not. I will be celebrating tonight again and there is no hope for tomorrow. Sigh...
I will just do what I can do today and see what I can start with tomorrow. I need to straighten my head first.

Texas de Brazil??? Don't know what that is but how can that be bad!!! From when I weigh in at Weight Watchers Saturday morning until Monday morning, I can gain 4-5 lbs of water weight! I am so "on it" Mon-Fri that just two days of weekend eating, I gain that much. Just know mostly it IS water weight even though it feels bad. I had a few weeks of just goin up 2 lbs which is better. I need to be more "on it" on the weekends as well. We had a big two nights too. But tomorrow Jan 1, we are going full on Primal for 30 days! Need to clear out the bod
