Great stuff I know....
Check with your unit SACO section about Jack3D. I'm assuming it has to do with the 1,3 DMAA in it.
Was just informed by our Bn SACO. After 01 January 2012, if its seen in your system, disciplinary action and/or administrative proceedings can/will take place.

Is this for the Corps or everyone? I haven't heard anything about Jack3d being banned in the Army. And I'm guessing they are banning 1,3...don't really think they could check for a specific pre-wo in your system unless they ran some fancy spectrum analysis of each ingredient in your blood stream or some ****.
Atleast if it's true I don't have to try and convince people that just because the PX GNC sales JACK3d means it's good.......

Not sure if its even the Corps doing it or just my Bn. I know the Army is doing a study on 1,3 however due to two Soldiers dieing during PT. But consider how many 100's of thousands of Marines, Soldiers, Airmen, and Sailors get the piss ran out of them in 100+ degree weather and are fine. The two that did die I think it was due to some other kind of underlying medical condition.
I completly agree with you though. I tell my Marines all the time, just becuase its on the shelf, at the PX, doesn't mean nothin. The Iron never lies to you. Typical knee-jerk reaction from the Army and the military in general. I have used Jack3d to be honest, and my friend back in the rear told me that it has been banned. Yet, they keep NO-Xplode on the shelves, and down range. How does that even make sense? If they're going to start banning PWO because it kills stupid privates then they should ban them all together.
At the same time, what about the countless different kinds of diet pills they sell at GNC and in the PX back home and downrange? At least be damn consistent.

When did you hear this? According to everything I see it is just banned for sale at PX's. Not taking. I'm sure there are plenty of coc's saying it is banned all together though. And noone has come out and said anything (like with spice) and everyone I asked has said it's just not for sale at PX anymore.

It's already banned in some schools, like Airborne school. The reason I was told was that it dehydrates you. Then again with as much water as they make you drink at that school I'm pretty sure that would be impossible. But then again personal responsibility is something lacking in today's military and society in general.
Really home skillet? Where did you get that information from? Don't spread rumors.

Let's be honest here, and I don't mean to derail the thread, but does the military and the Army in the specific promote healthy eating habits? No, not at all. All we have to do is take a walk through any DFAC, since they all generally serve the same food, and it's pretty much starches and fried food. Don't get me started on the lack of fruit, fresh vegetables, and healthy main line options other than maybe grilled chicken once in a while.
Then comes the PT regimen. Yeah now they have PRT, and it's suppose to be more advanced and whatever, but it's still not intense as it should be. Then you have battalions or companies that simply focus on running. Fatty lagging in the back is not going to be able to keep up, so what happens? They council him instead of placing him in a personalized PT program put together by his NCO or the PT NCO. I'm going on and on here, but I'm pretty sure my point has been made.

It's not banned, why would it be added to the UAs? And than it comes down to cost/benefit for the Army.
EDIT: And to Kadisha. Agree 100% on that. The Army really has a poor habit of teaching people proper eating habits. And is too quick to label someone a pos for failing at running at a pace instead of helping that person out and maybe just giving them the nudge or two they need.
Don't get me wrong though, there are some fattys that just need the axe and get out.Last edited by Hawks58; 12-31-2011 at 01:58 AM. Reason: see above

I ****ing hate Jack3d.. I still have a practically brand new tub just sitting here I took a single serving and it kept me up for 2 days!!!!! After doing the research I could see the ban coming just wondering why it didn't happen sooner.... after all it was banned in Canada and a few other countries, you would think the military would adhere to a slightly higher standard by at least no sell it on base.
