How can i have a 26 in waist and still be as pudgy as i am? I've seen women much thinner than me who have 26in waist and yet they are super fit and thin? This is mind boggling to me. Someone please explain.

Different musculoskeletal systems. Rib & pelvis width & distance from each other play a huge part in your waist size & shape.
As well as fat distribution.

she's not 26% bf. we don't know her bf. we know her waist size is 26 in. very different. read more carefully.
btw, op, even when i was at my thinnest, my waist was proportionally bigger than one would expect. so yeah, people are just built differently. but i'm not saying/agreeing you're pudgy. i have no clue.

I think you are too hard on yourself, you look far better than I thought from your description. But, to answer your question, body composition will made a big difference as far as looks vs. measurements. For example, I am also 5'6" and my waist measurement over time during my cut/bulks has varied quite a bit. Started at 142 pounds and chubby-ish waist of 28". Cut to 126 and 25.5." waist - skinny but not really defined. Bulked, then cut to 129 and 26" waist with much more defined abs than at smaller measurement. Why? Because my abs, obliques, and back muscles were larger even with a with lower BF%, so my measurement was larger. Currently I am 146 pounds with a 27.5" waist - I now weigh more than before I started out but look much better.

My mother is 6' tall, probably close to 200 pounds, has 46 inch hips and a 28" inch waist. Go figure. Some people carry impressive hip to waist ratios.

A small waist size doesn't necessarily mean you are going to be lean, bodyfat get it in check.
29" and lean.
What do you think she would get away with for waist? Hmm 24 if a few porkies pies are told.

Just like WWF up their height and weight, women down their waist up their arms and calves and all sorts of misinformation. Let's start with truth. Be honest.Last edited by MontyMagpie; 12-21-2011 at 01:06 PM.

Lol. I have a friend with a 25" waist and 45" hips. Just depends on how/where you carry fat.
