Okay, let me share my little story.
Went to the dentist today for one of my 3-a-year dentist appointments/teeth cleanings. Talked to the dentist about trying 35% Carbamide Peroxide whitening solution at home and asked her what she thought about it and her opinion on me doing it. She said that it's exactly what they do in the office except they don't use something as strong as the 35% because it will make your teeth VERY sensitive. No it will not "ruin" your teeth or "rip the enamel off your teeth". She said in the office they also use an LED light, like the light that comes in OP's link.
I asked her if it was worth me buying a 35% kit online somewhere and she said it wouldn't hurt. She said to make sure that it is REAL Carbamide Peroxide and not some sort of scam kit though. After talking to her a while about this she said, "You know what, we sell syringes of home whitening formula here for about 13$ a syringe, do you just want to try one instead?" So of course I said yes.
She gave me one of the syringes and it turns out that my dentist's office uses Opalescence PF 20% and they sell the same thing for at home use that they use on patients who come in for whitening, but it won't cost you 400$. It's also what she uses and her teeth were white as fukking pearls. She asked me if I had a bleach tray made already or if I needed to find something, and I told her I was planning on ordering one online. She remembered then that I have Invisalign and I'm on my last couple weeks of treatment and she told me my Invisalign retainers would be PERFECT to use for this since they are an EXACT mold of my teeth and fit on firmly.
So... here were her exact instructions/tips to me:
*If you have sensitive teeth, brush your teeth for about a week or so before bleaching them with a desensitizing toothpaste. You can also use desensitizing toothpaste the day of the bleaching instead of a week before.
*Lightly brush your teeth (preferably with desensitizing tooth paste) AND floss them, BEFORE you start an application of your teeth whitening
*Use a little bit of the product along the front inner wall of your mouthpiece and be sure not to use too much so that it is overflowing out of your mouth piece when you put it on.
*It is OKAY if it gets on your gums, it's not going to kill you, but once your mouth piece is in you want to be sure to use a Q-Tip to wipe away the excess gel from your gums anyways or they'll hurt.
*She told me to leave mine on for about 20-30minutes depending on how sensitive my teeth get, so I guess it's a personal thing.
*When you're done, gently brush the extra gel off your teeth with COOL water.
She told me I should see drastic results within about 3 applications, so about 3 days since I'm going to do it once a day.
So that's what I got out of my dentist + my test syringe of Opalescence 20% PF

Desensitizing toothpaste the dentist gave me today (apparently the newest one that's out/that they have):
Going to get a quick shower and get my teeth ready and then I'll try this out. I'll take before teeth pics and then an after one after my first trial.
