    Dam south asian/indian genetics suck (no racist im south asian)

    Interesting article about how BMI doesn't apply as much to south asians/indians because of the way their bodies genetically are. (skinny limbs and fat bodies).

    bump and this holds true (for me personally) and in general if u go to asia and just look around. it's incredible I went there in the summer and people were complimenting me on how "incredible" my physique was. BRB in america I barely ever get complimented for it and it's usually in the gym. In asia at a random ass bank people were like dam etc.

    been to pakistan, not one gym was seen. not to mention people there don't generally eat heavy...too poor.

    can't compare 3rd world countries to 1st world...brb comparing ****lia skinny people to americans who actually lift/eat heavy.

    I really don't want to blame genetics as it seems like a weak excuse.

    I'm going to find what works for me, next steps are hiring are hiring pros to look at my routine and diet.

    brb eat slightly over maintenance, first thing to go are abs

    did I say that? Maybe I am just sharing something that I have long suspected and finally found some proof of? Maybe I am sharing this with other asian miscers to show that not every human body responds the same. So if they aren't seeing the results a lot of other people are seeing then I am telling them to just have patience.

    OR maybe this will also shed light to the fact that the stock advice given on this forum about +500 bulk etc is bull**** for south asians because their bodies respond differently? And that they should probably be bulking at a lower level.

    exactly bro I think it's really important from a training point of view too. We gotta train a little differently. Not bulk as hard etc. Because frankly research supports the fact that our bodies are a bit different.

    It's not genetics. I think it's the poor nutrition and lack of exercise. I used to be kinda skinny because of my bad nutrition Indian food I was vegetarian and I used to play basketball and do long distance running. But as soon as I put more protein in my diet and started working out with weights, I had no problem packing on muscle. Of course I was 16 at the time but I still put on 30 in the first few months of lifting. No supplements Except muscle milk.

    Well, your post only refers to Indians living in India so that means it doesn't hold much weight in reference to genetics...

    The (Hindu) Indian diet is bad and is only now starting to improve properly. My ancestors were always fine because they consumed their protein from dairy (Punjab) unlike vast parts of India which had a pretty much a vegan diet.

    I don't think guys with slow metabolisms understand that in some ways it's a lot better than having a fast metabolism. If you need 5000+ calories a day to grow,then that's a chit load of money spent every week on food, and it's very hard to get that much food down if you're eating somewhat clean.

    Losing fat isn't the issue, that's simply restricting calories for a period of time, the issue is gaining too much fat when bulking. Only needing 3000-4000 calories a day to grow is a blessing in disguise.
