I'm helping out a friend lose weight. I'd think itd be best to start him light jogging for a few weeks before doing HIIT. But should overweight people avoid HIIT until they can run for a certain amount of time?

HIIT is dangerous for de-conditioned people.
So is trying to squat 315 your first time.
So is going out in the sun for 2 hours when you're a pasty mofo.
Just start out easy and slowly increase the difficulty. A fat persons definition of HIIT is doing 5 burpees then gasping for air.Powerlifter at PTC Performance Training Centre
