BMW1600's Do I Even Lift? log

I've kept a log for years on another site, but recently left it, so I need a place to park.

Background: 37, office job, lifting for a few years. Have tried to do a mix of PL and BB but I struggle with back issues as a result of two previous laminectomies/discectomies. Also overcoming a serious illness that laid me out last spring and summer for a number of months.

My PRs.

- bench 275 April 10

- incline 235 June 11

- SLDLs 275x4x3/300x3 Jan 10

- SOHP 185x1 June 10

- Deads 455x1 oct 10/460x1 sumo May 11

- Rack pull 515x1 oct 10

- Squats 365x1 May 11 - front squats 225x2

- Seated calf raises 315x10

- standing calf raises 540 (max machine will hold) x whatever I feel like

- chest supported rows 180x5x2 May 10

- leg press 945x4 Oct 10

Today: 6'1, 225.

Been much better the past few years since I began ignoring the doctor's advice and really thought about core work and mobility. However, I usually manage to **** up a few times a year from deadlifting

Ironic that ignoring the doctor's advice often seems to be the best way to go. Mine recently told me that "no one over the age of 35" should deadlift, but I am going to be starting up again soon.

Many many moons ago in a previous life (before kids) I owned a '68 BMW 1600 and a '70 1600 (at once...also had a number of 2002s, a 3.0s, a 320i, a 325is, and an M6). Now I have a very utilitarian '05 Wrangler Unlimited.

:rofl: i rarely drive that thing anymore.. speaking of which, would you like to buy a sick wheeler and plow? read a few posts up you're driving a jeep? I'm sure that hog'll get stuck in a mere inch of snow. that wheeler will have you all plowed out in only moments. personally, i suggest moving all your snow from the your driveway to your neighbors lawn. just push straight across the street.

The Jeep has never been stuck. Ever. Don't disrespect.

And even if I wanted a wheeler with a plow (which I do) I am not going to ride it for three weeks straight to get it here

it's got a windshield dude..and goes about 50 mph... i've got something like 23 mpg on it once. i'll drive it to yah

i was going through my dropbox account the other day, cleaning **** out.. and i saw a picture of your jeep, the one where it left tracks in the snow and i thought your ****ing jeep had a set of tracks on it :ugh:

decline db 55x10 too damn hard to finagle myself into the bench and hold the dbs

hammer strength decline

cable flies about 6 sets, 40 dropping to 20

rope pushdowns, meaningless weight machine, 5 or 6 sets with one light burnout set

wrist curls/reverse wrist curls with 50bb then 30bb

finish it off with two mod. weight burnout sets of rope curls

had a such a wicked pump i could barely button my collar ftw
