My cousin lives in New Jersey has a buddy who works with the Jets, and he was told it was the Jets who got Smith for Revis. There's picks involved, but he's not sure what.

While Smith isn't great, if you can pick him up for a value, he's could be a great stopgap if there isn't a QB in the draft you like.

Cassel had one good year in a system he was in for a few years and he had Randy Moss and Wes Welker to throw to. Alex has been improving for a few years now and with a good offensive minded HC took major step forward. He's not an elite guy but he is consistent when he has a good team around him. He's not meant to be our franchise QB. I can tell you that already. He's the best option in free agency, and in the draft, no QB this year is worth taking in the 1st round. The Chiefs will go Luke Joeckel to solidify the OL, and draft a QB in maybe the 3rd or 4th. All he has to do is not mess up, which he rarely does anymore. He is a huge upgrade over ALL the QB's we've had since Trent Green. If Matt Cassel can game manage us to the playoffs, I'm pretty confident Alex Smith could lead us there and win a game or 2 in them.Originally Posted by ziaziazia
