The question does make me wonder... If you're living in a place with reasonably cold winters that you are exposed to regularly then I assume your body allocates more of its energy into keeping you warm, which is a sh!tload already. If you ate at maintenance during the summer and ate this same amount during the winter, its possible that the extra energy your body expends being warm would turn the maintenance into a deficit, supposedly making it easy to cut in the winter.
It probably makes little difference, I'm just spitballing.'People are gonna remember me as a god forever... Like-like-like Troy, like Chiles heel, I'm a god forever I'll be remembered for thousands of years to come' - Jason Genova

Yeah, exercising in extreme temperatures on either end of the spectrum can increase energy expenditure. You can't tell me that sprinting in the blazing heat/freezing cold is the same in terms of energy demands compared to sprinting when it's in the middle of springtime.

Well, cutting is actually easier in winter since your body burns a bit more calories from trying to keep warm. And especially if you do lots of outdoor activities like chopping wood or shoveling the driveway or something like that... But bulking is more natural and that's why it's preferred. I mean who really wants to be at 5-6% bf when it's like 14 degrees outside..?

threads get worse and worse .
Ka0s :In my experience, doing heavy barbell squats, bench presses, deadlifts, military presses, rows, etc. builds no significant muscle mass.
What you need to really get big is a solid routine which focuses on light weights and cable movements to really force blood into those muscles and get that deep burn & powerful contraction

^ I think you just answered your own question
Animals bulk up for winter naturally, it's basically a primal instinct. People need to learn to realize that human's are a species of animal as well, and we will naturally want to put on some fat for the winter to keep warm.
Albeit the season will not cause any significant changes regarding body composition, but colder weather will cause you to burn more calories if you're outside\cold."If death is victory; how afraid of life can we be?"

S.A.D.:
"Seasonal affective disorder (SAD), also known as winter depression or winter blues, is a mood disorder in which people who have normal mental health throughout most of the year experience depressive symptoms in the winter or, less frequently, in the summer,[1] repeatedly, year after year. The US National Library of Medicine notes that "some people experience a serious mood change when the seasons change. They may sleep too much, have little energy, and crave sweets and starchy foods. They may also feel depressed. Though symptoms can be severe, they usually clear up."[2] The condition in the summer is often referred to as Reverse Seasonal Affective Disorder, and can also include heightened anxiety
