I figured there should be a thread to talk about all the offseason signings, trades, rumors and other dealings.
Some notable recent moves are Jonathan Broxton signing with Kansas City and Angels and Rockies trading Tyler Chatwood for Chris Ianetta. Winter meetings coming up in less than a week, should be some big moves coming pretty soon.

Cubs are probably gonna get Fielder (at least I hope lol). Pujols is staying in Stl no way I see him going anywhere else after all this time and coming off a WS win unless he is just forcing Stl's hand to giving him as good a deal as possible and milking them. Maybe LaRussa retiring has him thinking other places? I dunno but I would take him in a heartbeat. The thought of Castro and Pujols for years to come makes me wet (no homo).

Yeah, I should go. It's crazy to think an 80-81 team adding a star player like Fielder wouldn't get better. Not like said 80-81 team was without it's star 3rd basemen(Zimmerman) for over 2 months and was without it's ace pitcher(Strasburg) until September. They would definitely be an inferior team

FWIW though I don't know if I want Fielder.
The Nationals IMO would definitely compete for a playoff spot next year if they got him, but at what cost? Ryan Zimmerman will be due a pretty giant contract soon, and Strasburg's will be pretty insane as well(although still pretty far away). The talent is in place right now to be a VERY good team in the future, probably not in 2012 with Strasburg on an innings limit but I see 2013 as the year they put it all together.
If they get Fielder, they HAVE to be committed to becoming one of the big payroll teams or they could lose some real talent. If they signed Fielder they'd have like $40'ish million dollars wrapped up in Jayson Werth & Fielder every year.*Cam Newton Crew*

How could you forget Papplebon signing with the Phillies?
That was huge! The biggest move so far.
CJ Wilson will probably go to the Yanks and suck in the playoffs which will be awesome! The Sox need to Sign a SP and a RF and figure out the closer situation still. The winter meetings will be intense!

How bout Nathan signing with Texas? Feliz will be moved into the rotation, not sure about that move but he was nasty as a closer. Nathan a year removed from Tommy john should be better than he was last year but not as good as feliz.
I keep hearing Wilson wants a 100 million contract and whoever gives him anything close to that will goof hard. Cj should resign with Texas, assuming they give him a fair offer.Eli 2 Rings a.k.a. Eli Montana a.k.a. Eli Unitas a.k.a. Eli Swag Newton a.k.a. Goats gonna Goat !

How about no.
As we have reported on this site for weeks (months?), the Yankees are not that hot for C.J. Wilson. In fact, even though, his agent requested a trip to the Bronx, the Yankees said no.
So I'd put the chances of Wilson becoming a Yankee at less than five percent. That's a clown question, bro

gonna really miss paps next season, i was real impressed with how he bounced back last year and handled himself. i'd be surprised if the sox signed another 9th inning guy with bard and jenks there. they do need a SP badly though, cant rely on beckett/lester/clay to carry them. would really like to see cj wilson in that rotation
RF is a big hole for the sox, josh reddick would be the weak link in the outfield if he became an everyday player, its unfortunate ryan kalish injured himself for most of last season, i really took a liking to that guy.
also, is reyes staying with the mets? damn if the sox got hold of him surely thatd be the strongest infield in baseball? still happy to have scutaro though
wonder if cherington has the balls to make a big move this offseason

Health Bell to the Marlins
The Marlins have agreed to terms with free agent closer Heath Bell, reports ESPN's Jayson Stark. The deal is worth $27MM over three years and it contains a vesting option for a fourth year worth $9MM. The contract is pending Bell passing a physical, which he will take tomorrow in Florida. Bell is represented by ACES.That's a clown question, bro
