The Summer of George!
Haha, well it's not the summer and my name's not George but I like the Seinfeld reference. Anyway, I'm currently 269 lookin to get down below 200. From there we'll see about losing more, just taking baby steps. Oh yeah, I'm also 5'9". I won't bore you with my life story so I'll just say come join me for the ride.
My workout will be as follows:
MWF - Spartacus workout(41 minute circuit training)
Tu - Elliptical 40 minutes
Th - yoga
Take the weekend off.
I haven't decided on a meal plan or calorie count yet but will be deciding on that in the next week or two.
Today was my first day doin the spartacus workout. INTENSE to say the least. I've played many sports, did conditioning, and worked out a lot in my life. Nothing comes close to this workout. I didn't even come close to finishing it. No worries though, it was only the first day. Cheers!

Good luck on your goals. If I can offer one suggestion would be to make your diet more of a priority than your workouts at this point imho. Either way keep at it.

Hmm, well here is my planned meal plan:
Breakfast - 2 Quaker Oat apple cinnamon rice cakes and a glass of skim milk
Lunch - 2 cans of tuna and like 2 or 3 tablespoons of cottage cheese
Post workout - 1 scoop of whey with 12 oz. of skim milk
Supper - will vary depending on what my mom makes. Will just have to watch portions

Not bad. I would try to get more eggs and lean meats if you can. Like chicken, pork, or steaks as your main source of protien. More veggies too. They will fill you up without adding much calories if you eat them plane or with little dressing. Try to keep track of the actual amount of calories you eat. If you haven't already read the stickies in the nutrition section to help you find your target calories and macros.

Normally, I will only post an update once a week. I felt though that I should let those of you (if anyone?) following my progress that I injured my foot today. My dad and I were running around the track at the gym today. He's rehabbing from his quadruple heart bypass 5 months ago (at 53 years old!). Anyway, I'm not sure what went wrong, maybe just too much weight for my feet, but the arch of my left foot is killing me. I don't know how long this will put me out. With luck, maybe I'll wake up feeling better tomorrow. I just wanted to keep you guy(s) abreast of my situation in case you cared.

Oh man. Hopefully its something minor and doesn't hold you back. I hope your mom is cooking some healthy stuff for you two. Stick to having a caloric deficit and getting your macros. You'll see results. I'm following your thread bro.

The diet is going smoothly. I am using My Fitness Pal to track my calories today. If I subtract the calories I burned, I only netted around 2000 today.
I dont typically let just a little pain stop me. I worked out the past two days with a strained back. The back is better now but my foot is killin me. If I don't get back at it tomorrow then definitely monday as I'll have the weekend to rest up.

Well my foot still hurts but I went ahead and worked out today anyway. I did my regular spartacus workout sans anything that would hurt my foot. To make up for the exercises I missed I also went swimming. No rest for the wicked!

I only lost .4 pounds this week, down to 265.6 pounds. Really demoralizing considering I've been sticking very close to my diet and exercise. I should have lost 2+ pounds.

Keep your head up bro! How are you tracking calories?

That varies quite a bit day over day, do you have a specific calorie goal you want to hit?

Do you think that is why you didn't lose as much as what you planned?
EDIT: Actually I'm confused, 2 days ago you said you were upset because you followed a strict diet and didn't lose weight.

Possibly but doubtful. I had 2 bad days and 5 good ones. One of the good ones was only like 1350 calories which is a huge deficit.

Today I signed up with a personal trainer at my gym. I'm pretty excited. I definitely have the willpower and hopefully with his know-how, we can turn me into something I haven't been in 15 years: thin!

Today was my first day with the personal trainer. WOAH! I haven't had that kind of workout since two a day practices for football in high school and this was all packed into one hour. Man did he push me. I can't explain how intense it was. The workout is basically circuit training with lots of different exercises. I'd say 33% cardio and 67% strength training. Working the entire body. Start with cardio, then do some weights, a little more cardio, more weights, and so on.

Alright. So I lost 2.6 pounds this week, down to 263. Yeah! Feeling sore but I still gotta lift today and then I can rest this weekend.
Also, I just noticed the original workout I posted and it's changed. Here it is now:
M- Lift everything
Tu- basketball
W- personal trainer, a lil bit of everything, cardio and weights
Th- basketball
F- Lift everything

This week I stayed at 263. I was always well under my calorie limit every day so I decided to reward myself with a little cheating and I think that hurt my weigh-in. No worries though, learn from your mistakes. I don't plan on letting the holidays stop me from losing weight next week. I do plan on cheating considerably on Christmas day, but I plan to work even harder in the gym to make up for it.

Hmm, you might wanna talk to the folks in the losing fat forum and read the stickies. Juicing isn't necessary. I mean it will work, but a chicken breast is really good for you. As long as you're under your caloric limit, how you get those calories doesn't matter.

I thought I'd let everyone know that I've been asked to be a groomsman in a wedding during Memorial Day weekend 2012. How is this relevant to my weight loss? Well firstly because of the obvious part that I want to look good(could be some hotties there!). Also though, the groom is BUYING all of us a suit and we can keep it after the wedding. So I'd like to be in shape when I get fitted for the suit. Basically, it's crunch time and I gotta start droppin some pounds big time.

Just weighed in at 259.8 which is down 3.2 from last week. Yeah! I also should say that my grandpa passed away yesterday so I'm not sure how this will effect my exercise and eating. Hopefully not at all but we'll see.
