So, I am very furious and feel as if plan B "mis markets" the true effectiveness of their birth control. They say that only 1 in 100 women will get pregnant on plan b if taken within 72 hours.
Based on their marketing scheme, one assumes that if they have sex on any one day during the middle of their menstrual cycle, the chance of getting pregnant is 1 in 100. WRONG. So if you have sex during ovulation, you assume you are generally ok. right? WRONG
There is something they do NOT tell you, and I believe they do not tell you because it would prevent consumers from buying their product.
It is NOT effective if you have sex within the 12-24 hour window of ovulation.
me and my ex had break-up sex, I busted inside her (stupid i know, the ONLY time i've ever done that).
She took plan B immediately afterwards, as we were both terrified. I watched her take it and waited three hours with her to see if she puked it up. We took the second dose two. We were told to rest easy, as the chance of her being pregnant was less than 1 out of 100 (since we took it right away). We were considering taking another form of birth control called "ELLA" that also prevents implantation, HAD WE KNOWN that plan B does not work on the day of ovulation.
2 weeks later - positive pregnancy result. We read the MD information on Plan B and in turns out it is NOT effective on the day of ovulation (for example if you have unprotected sex within 12-24 hours if her releasing her egg). It prevents ovulation and in only rare cases prevents implantation.
if we had KNOWN this, we would have taken another form of birth control to prevent the implantation.
in b4 "its all ur fault for busting inside"
in b4 "she trapped you"
