    It just depends how often you are lifting and what you are capable of recovering from (the more advanced you are the more work it takes to cause adaptation but also takes you longer to recover from)

    Given that there is a routine called 5x5, I'd say to go with that first.

    I have done 5x5 for 4-5 weeks and then switched to 5x3. With 5x5 my strength went through the roof (srs), with 5x3 I am obviously closer to 1RMs and am improving as well, but its only been 2 weeks, so dunno end-result yet.
