    Seriously, I love this guy for his dedication and passion for doing this. All of you who talk ****, I understand, but you gotta admit this guy does this in his spare time in between a full time job, this is definitely beyond time consuming.

    Some of us work 40-60 hour weeks and still maintain a full time spot in college, and with gym and proper sleep we have become time management masters, learners of the sacrifice.

    So this guy gets a huge clap from me for being a G. I'd add that "Have another scoop of protein" picture of a dog wearing a hat, but I don't want to over do it.

    Its called body recomp and its done by training hard and eating around your maintenance calories, it sure can be done just takes time to see see results whereas when you bulk or cut you see changes alot faster meaning you get greater motivation ect.

    You would not believe all the cr@p I got from folks here on BB.com about this concept, most claim its not possible and get really angry with me for suggesting it. It IS possible for beginning and intermediate bodybuilders but not for pros and advanced BBers, people missed that last point even though I was careful to point it out.

    By the way, I have always shied away from the term "recomposition" because there are too many myths about turning fat into muscle and recomposition sounds like modern day alchemy.

    6 meals a day plus 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight is broscience. Professional bodybuilders who know how to eat and train correctly cant lose fat and gain muscle while an inexperienced person can. You have to eat strict to gain muscle. Eating ''garbage'' food can only make you fat. Sorry Scooby, but this is broscience to the max.

    lol did you even read what Scooby said? Noobs and intermediate lifters can recomp but its next to impossible for advanced guys.
    Also strong calling out his broscience while spitting more broscience.

    Recomping is possible, you are not gaining muscle and losing fat SIMULTANEOUSLY but rather alternating between the two processes. It's gonna take longer than the traditional methods probably. IMO I'd rather bulk/cut while staying lean.

    nah i mean alternating between lifting/non lifting days ie weekly you gain/lose no weight


    by bulking/cutting i mean months of each brah. Gain weight then lose it when you get too fat inevitably but by the time you lose it you will have more lean mass so in the end there is a net gain.

    It's because you're slightly misleading. I broadly agree with you but technically it isn't simultaneous fat loss and muscle gain. What you're proposing is something like a zig zag diet where fat oxidation outstrips fat gain and muscle gain outstrips muscle loss at various points in time. A recomp means that sometimes the body is catabolic and overall burning fat, sometimes it's anabolic and building muscle, and the caloric balance allows for this switch to be quite frequent compared to a dirty bulk, possibly both occuring in the same day.

    that would work if your body operated on a 24 hour basis. Having a surplus one day and then a deficit another will either put you in an overall surplus or deficit. A few weeks of bulking then a few of cutting will work though.

    I can't believe people are buying into this vid. The calories you need come from body fat? Yes, the body is going to take fat and use it to build something that is much more metabolically expensive to maintain. This makes total sense from an evolutionary stand point.

    Didn't mean your body operates per 24hours. It's just the easiest way to explain the alternation between the two. Recomping is just bulking/cutting without a change in weight.

    This guy was one of my inspirations years ago when I first started getting serious about bodybuilding.

    Much props to him.

    Anyway, the man is clearly right about the ability of beginner/intermediate lifters to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time. Hell, I'm living proof. I always read this myth on here, along with the promotion of ridiculous and unhealthy bulking/cutting cycles, just because PROFESSIONAL BODYBUILDERS advocate it. Pro bodybuilders will always exaggerate because they THEMSELVES are exaggerated examples of what bodybuilding is all about. The average person does NOT require 300+ grams of protein daily, 4000+ calories a day or need to put on 40 lbs of excess fat in order to consistently put on muscle.
