Should i workout when i am sore? ... 2 Days after

    Okay,

I worked out my arms and shoulders on Sunday and I really pushed my limits, I knew I did good because I was very sore the next day. now it is Tuesday and I woke up even More sore than yesterday! My question would it be okay to do some dumbbell exercises today just to take it easy? I am trying to build some muscle.
I am taking ON Amino Energy and Creatine.

    Thanks

sounds like you need to change your routine so you're not using the same muscle groups in short periods of time.

    Please go.

EDIT: OP, what does your routine look like? You may end up being a little sore during your next workout, but that doesn't mean you can't lift.

Muscles do require adequate rest before being worked again. A week between all muscle groups isn't necessary.

    5 x 8 reps dumbell curls (35lbs)
    8 x 8 push ups

your set weights are so low that imo you should not be doing a workout like that. Go with SS or something. You will gain a lot more muscle that way.

#1 - you probably shouldn't do 8 SETS of bar curls... just saying
    (that is overtraining)

#2 - you don't need a week between muscle groups, but at least 72 hours is recommended.

#3 - why are you asking us if you should work out... its YOUR body. You need to feel out what you think is best for YOU. If you just started working out again, then I would suggest you EASE back into your workouts.

    Just my $.02

You need to find a better routine. Try SS or something similar.

You're training like a classic curlbro. As a few people suggested, you should find an established, proven workout.

The thing with soreness or doms ,as you'll see it referd to in the fitness community, is entirely dependent on you. Studies have proven that it is okay to lift while sore. In fact it is slightly better to lift while sore because the body is in an anabolic state, meaning that your body is preserving and building muscle. This has a number of benefits, the greatest direct benefit being higher testostorone.

However, being a beginner you are more inclined to overtrain. Just eat as big as you can and get on a program that doesn't blow.

Dude, your form is definitely **** on these. I'm fairly big/strong and I can only curl 45 DBS 3x8 and I usually end with 3x12 60lb bar curls.

Cut out the ego, big weight comes with time.

Stimulus ends after approxematly 48 hours. You could train the same muscles every day if you wanted. It depends on the amount of food, sleep and genetics does play a role here as well.

Overtraining is almost impossible to get to. Before overtraining you will get tired, unmotivated, progress will stop or even go slightly back. If you keep pushing there (what almost nobody would), you COULD reach overtraining. Otherwise, just no.
