03-29-2012, 10:53 AM #3636I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do this I keep on doing. (Romans 7:15,17-19)

Underneath all the ice cream is a layer of hard coconut oil shell! Love me some high fat dessert.

Close Up of Chocolate Protein Ice Cream w/ Godiva Chocolatier Gem Truffles & Frozen Coconut Oil Shell
When coconut oil touches or is mixed & chilled/frozen w/ something cold like frozen fruit or ice cream, it turns into a delicious hard shell.
It's like the "Magic Shell" ice cream topping, except with coconut oil instead of chocolate! You can see a piece of the hard shell in the middle.

Ever tried making faux magic shell with coconut oil? I've seen recipes, I think you can just melt coconut oil and chocolate chips together, and let cool/harden. Then when you want to use it like magic shell, reheat in microwave to melt, and pour that sheit on your ice cream and it'll harden up. Basically magic shell without all that partially hydrogenated Crap

Yeah I've already tried it. There are many recipes for it as well. I will make a legit cocoa & melted chocolate coconut magic shell and post it here probably this weekend if I can. So look out for it!
If you guys make dessert bowl mixes with cottage cheese, greek yogurt, or protein powder puddings, I recommend mixing in some coconut oil if you can fit some fats in. Freeze it & you will have a coconut layer shell around your chilled ice cream/pudding! I've done it many times. Past coconut oil shell desserts:
Strawberry-Lemon cheesecake Protein ice cream w/ Coconut Oil Shell
Frozen straw+blueberries with Greek yogurt ice cream w/ hard coconut topping.
Trutein Cinnabun protein pudding w/ coconut shell
