Nice but why is that $300? My company's Flex benefits card will cover 1st aid kits and such and I lose my balance at end of year so could burn it on something like this.

Its a little bit more advanced than your typical 1st Aid kit, and designed to treat/stabilize combat wounds.

lol... I'm no Rescue Ricky. It does make a nice addition to the kit I've already pieced together though.

It was free because its Army-issue, I'm one of the designated CLS's for my new unit.

It's not insurance, it's the Flex card. You contribute pre-tax money for medical spending card and companies usually match or match 50% of what you contribute. You can use the card to pay the doc or pay for scripts and OTC pills and stuff like that. My company happens to be pretty damn cool about it and one of the guys last year bought a hell of a nice real kit similar to this one.

Thx jafo, I picked up a few things. Watching a review I saw how one user was using the 12x5 water bottle attachment to keep his camp stove and extra canisters. That is going to be fantastic for me as I've been just tossing mine in my "food chest" and it's never really found a place. I doubt I'll ever attach it to any of my backpacks but it'll be a nice way to carry my stove. Also picked up a Proteus because my old 5.11 bag was getting worn out so I decommissioned it. I use bags like that as a genera hunting/camping supply type bag and this one is a good bit smaller than the old one which is what I was looking for.

I actually thought about getting a proteus as well, still deciding but for now I only got a janus pouch.

The one I had was nice, but it was just a *little* too big and then it started wearing out, but it was great for all purpose hunting trips at the ranch and camping on the island. The smaller one will definitely stow better on the boat for the island trips but might not be quite as functional at the ranch, which really is fine because I have pockets everywhere in the truck for overflow.

Any feedback on their Deployment Bag or Voodoo Tactical as a manufacturer? That's another of the similar type bags I had before so been wondering about that one. I guess it's cheap enough I can just give it a shot and see if it works.
