Hey brah, I've been on it for about 2 months.
There are a ****load of different possible side effects, doesn't mean you'll encounter them all though.
I've experienced:
Breaking out (within the first few weeks I broke out pretty badly but then it calmed down).
DRY sensitive skin (most things you use will piss off your skin, turn it red etc and you'll be kinda flakey).
Super-dry lips (constantly need vaseline, if I open my mouth too wide my lips split at the sides which is pretty annoying).
Dry eyes - was constantly feeling tired, had no idea why. Ended up having to buy artificial tears.
Fatigue? Lately I've been sooo shattered, I think the longer I'm on the drug the worse the effects get.
Mood swings - quite a recent one, not 100% sure if it's med related but I'm pretty sure. I'll be in a pretty good mood, then suddenly really bummed out or even in kill mode O_o
Dreams? I've had some really bizarre vivid dreams, lots of them actually involving killing people/hiding dead bodies. Didn't have one last night though. (srs)
Kidney & liver function - they'll probably put you on the drug for a month then you'll have to do another blood test to see how much it's affected you. My liver reading had slightly raised, so I had to have another test done (like my third or fourth all together). Your average healthy reading is between 10 and 50, mine was 50ish, 70 (higher, but still perfectly fine apparently?) then 71 2 weeks later, maybe my diet had an influence.
It's only the MAJOR effects that I'm really worried about (but don't seem too bad so far) like internal functions, possible muscle breakdown (god forbid xD all my gym & diet rendered worthless) and the psychological stuff. Split lips and dry eyes are a small price to pay.
HOPEFULLY I haven't scared you too much, it's a pretty strong drug, who knows what you'll go through. (OH and sunburn is a really common one, apparently you're 5x more likely to burn but I haven't as I've never burned in my life and UK weather is pure ASS)

Hey brah, lookin to get on this soon. Doctor wanted to put me on it, but my mom wanted to try "alternatives" because she didnt like the potential side effects. Since nothing else works, im gunna get on it.
Im just wondering if you wear contact lenses? and if your eyes were too dry to wear em? even for an hour or two at the gym?

I tried 3 other (weaker) meds from the doctors before the hospital dermatologist would prescribe it for me!
I don't wear contact lenses, I'm meant to wear glasses as I'm pretty short sighted but never wear them. I think the drops help a lot with the dry eyes though, I only need to put them in like once or twice a day.

Would you recommend accutane if i only have bad acne on my face? I get a few pimples on my back/shoulders but not very bad at all. Ive had acne on my face for a solid 4 years (grade 9-present which is grade 12). My brother had bad acne too but his was gone by grade 12, soooo jealous. I feel like its best to wait it out since its not that bad, but i definatly dont wana graduate with acne. Gots to look my best for Grad (ours isnt a prom, its a dinner/dance in a tux) and also dont wana have to go to college with acne.
