Still Movin' Up!
I found the secret. Ya, I know I got you all listening now. The secret to new growth and more strength is….wait for it…MORE FOOD! In the last blog I had just started my new diet and had informed you guys that it was a lot more food. Well, the onslaught continues!
This morning I woke up and had:
8oz Steak
10oz Potato
8 Egg Whites
3 Whole Eggs
I know what your gonna say, its crazy, its too much protein and not needed. Guess what, a few weeks ago I would have said the same thing but after seeing the results in the gym I am never going to dispute the power of more good calories in ones daily diet.
Potatoes were a bitch for me before; I was mixing all of my food with rice in an effort to get it down easier. I hated them; they were dry and didn’t make the protein portion go down any easier. Well I found the secret for that too and I’m gonna share it with you now, Mashed Potatoes! Not only have I realized how important potatoes are to my training but how good they are when you take time to make them. Here is what I have been doing:
-Boil 5lbs of potato, each day I make two mashed potato meals about 10-12oz in size
-1tbsp butter in a large pan
-After butters melted add boiled potato, mash with potato masher (I like my potato a little clumpy so I don’t bother mashing and whipping), after mashed somewhat add:
-1tsbp sour cream
-1/4-1/2 cup 2% milk
-Few dashes sea salt
-Few dashes black pepper
-Use spatula to mix and mash a little softer
-Mix and mash until sour cream and milk are mixed in to the potato
-Done.
I know it sounds stupid, mashed potatoes are the key? The point is we’re all bodybuilders and are all looking for ways to get more food down so we can keep growing. I’m just letting you guys know what’s working for me. More food, more calorie dense food and more fruit to top it off.
In the gym I have been lifting like I was 25 again. Over the years with minor injuries here and there I have lost a lot of the raw power I had growing up. These last few weeks though I have been feeling much more powerful. Here are some of latest lifts, they aren’t huge but are big for me:

makes sense to me..but just like him i like rice cuz its easier to get down but rice also only takes 3 minutes to cook..all those potatoes seems like too much work..
i was using an apple slicer to cut my potatoes then putting them in the oven and eating them like french fries but even that takes 45 minutes to cook.

I could never eat that much food for breakfast. Anyone else find it hard to down food first thing in the morning? Just can't handle food like that...

Gaining muscle without becoming a fat bag of poop is a fine art, and I think it's a nice idea to only eat the most nutrient-rich foods possible. He's not eating for pleasure here, guys.

Hey man, maybe you can answer something for me if you know. It's been on my mind for a while.
What are the health benefits/problems of simple sugars vs complex sugars? The only significant difference I know of is that simple sugars will break down faster than complex sugars and will cause a larger spike in blood sugar. Higher concentration of blood sugar results in larger levels of insulin produced.
But why is that a bad thing? Obviously if you eat sh*t all day long and don't exercise, you're running the risk of developing diabetes. But if you eat clean, exercise ever day (ie. if you are a bodybuilder), then what is the problem? What are the benefits of complex sources?Bench: 215x12 (17/12/2011) PR since torn RC

The body will digest complex carbs at a slower rate than sugars because the complex carbs have more chemical bonds to break. Therefore requiring more energy to burn them. Another benefit of complex carbs is that the foods they are found in(fruits, veggies, grains) have tons of vitamins and minerals that you won't find in foods with simple sugars.

Its beneficial because when the body breaks down complex carbs, the glucose is released into your bloodstream more slowly. Because simple carbs are broken down faster, your body has to react to this sudden spike in blood sugar by having the pancreas produce more insulin than it normally would if you were eating complex carbs. Over time, the pancreas CAN wear down, resulting in health issues.

The preceding sentence is true.

The simplicity is everything fine within moderation. You can't expect to stay healthy bulking on strictly junk food. However, based on what you're stating you agree it has no effect on body coposition (if so you can link a factual article that states otherwise). Thus confirming the fact that he doesn't need to be eating potatoes or rice for every meal.
He's torturing himself for no reason. I bet he also stops carbs at night it's not like broscience like this is uncommon in pros... I'm just stating it sucks that it's this common to be unaware.

Why does Hany Rambod > me? He's much older than me. Due to his generation, the availability of information on the internet was much more scarce. Try being an IT tech that gets to chill at home on a computer all day doing close to nothing except research who bodybuilds... I get 10 years of experience in 2 years. Obviously nothing he is doing is going to negatively impact the level of improvement, however, some people don't like to eat 8 meals a day with potatoes and rice every meal, and it won't affect your body comp or have any major effect on your health if you eat your sugars within moderation. So like I said, torture for nothing.

i really couldn't answer that man i'm far from an expert on the subject, All i know is that eating clean bought my LDL down from a dangerously high 4.3 too 2.6 and the only carb source i have is maltodextrin and oats. Being a pro i'd imagine they have allot more to worry about so eating as clean as possible could only benefit them.

lol is this guy for real? hahahaha you think you know the ins and outs of nutrition for bodybuilders because you no life the internet from your computer at home? is that what your honestly implying? Considering hany has the top 2 bodybuilders in the world and many other pros willing to pay him top money for his diet advice then yes i think he clearly has a ton more knowledge than you. Why do you think virtually all pros are eating clean these days....must be for ****s and giggles. Funny how it's only usually skinny *******s from the nutrition forum or people that barely look like they lift who all think that eating whatever wil lgive the same results aslong as you 'hit your macros' <<<<that sentence fuking goes through me

I don't post in the nutrition forum, they're dicks over there. I'm just explaining things to you. I'm sure Hany or any top pro would handle a simple question like this through email so why don't you show me your proof of what you say? Until then it's all broscience, just like supplements. You think he'll tell the truth about one thing but then completely stand by his lie of another? I have more credibility than Hany based on that fact alone. I haven't spewed anything you can prove wrong.
Don't you realize what I am saying? Everything is fine within moderation.... You proved yourself wrong already by stating most pros eat "clean" when we both know a lot of them diet on high steak and beef diets.

not sure if serious how is beef not 'clean' obviously i'm talking about clean as in bodybuilding clean not clean as in actually healthy or that would mean eating a 2000 calorie diet with a none existant amount of protein. And prove what? fouads diet is done by hany since hany is his prep guy what is there to prove lol
