LOL normally I wouldn't have time for the Spin class, but something made me do it. Probably the fact that I wouldn't have to think about it, unlike the elliptical where I count the minutes down. Gotta burn some of this fat off somehow. At least I don't do Ultimate and NROL4W on the same day ... might have to call out cantwalknotcomingin.jpg
The number of stares I would get from that! LMAO!
Seemed like the right thing to do and I didn't feel like leaving the gym yet! She was giving me that, awww hai new girl look. She has NO idea. Sadly I probably had more endurance than most of those chicks in there. Stick thin no muscles. She has us using 2.5 lb plates to do some random exercises and I had to keep myself from laughing. Felt NOTHING, srs. 2.5lbs for curls, tricep extensions, lat raises, come on now!Whoa, spin class now too?!! Damn, you're killing it! Lol at ham staring the instructor, doin' that spin class like a baws and going up to the instructor after "that all you got woman?! BOOYAH!" WTF with Hot Dog Day, that sounds awful. I'm not a fan personally, ugh.
And yes .. that's how they "treat" the employees to something around here. Hot Dogs. Whatever, free lunch for them. I just have to cook them. And get paid for it. Can't complain too much. Means I don't have to sit here all day. LOL

2.5lbs lol, go all badass on her and pick up the entire power rack and curl it, lulz.
Well damn woman, how could you resist?! I do too, usually in public creating awkward situations, but I swear it's only because I'm mega sore.

Ultimate X - Wed Feb 15, 2012
Another great class. I don't even remember everything we did but it was a lot of quad work. Spin portion was awesome, my legs were burning by the time the first 1/2 hr was over. Weights were equally as taxing like always. Off the top of my head, lots of curls, skull crushers, raises of all sorts, squats, lunges, crunches ... all of the above.
On a funny note the trainer came up behind me during the skull crushers and scared the crap outta me. So you have to roll out on the stability ball so your shoulders and head are supported, keep your hips up and then do the skull crushers. It's a lot of work. I was mid rep and then next thing I know someone is pushing my elbows in (apparently I flared them out a little at some point) I stopped mid rep and realized what she was doing and just laughed. But now I knew what to focus on and it helped a lot. All in all a great class and I was so freakin exhausted.Current Log:

Day 14 - Workout B Week 7 - Fri 2/17/2012
A - Deadlift - 3x10 - 110lbs
B1 - DB Shoulder Press (superset) 3x10 - 30lbs **
B2 - Wide-Grip Lat Pulldown 3x10 - 90lbs
C1 - Lunges (superset) 3x10 - 40lb barbell 15 each leg
C2 - Captains Chair 3x12 - 15
Great workout, went in with the mentality to kill it and I did. Upped the DL's by 5lbs, which was great. Annoyed that my rack was taken, but he was using it for good not evil so I'm not too angry DL's are getting better, but I really think 110 is going stopping point for now. Surprisingly through all this working out, my back has been amazing. Super stoked about that, as I've had the worst back problems in the past. My shoulders are a little sore, but I never realized how strong they still were. I love finding out new things about myself. It's pretty awesome. Makes me that much more happy that I found weight lifting. Anyway, blah blah!Current Log:

Day 15 - Workout A Week 8 - Sat 2/18/2012
A - Squat - 3x8 - 65, 70, 75
B1 - Push-up (superset) - 8, 8, 8
B2 - Seated Row 3x8 - 90lbs (straight bar)
C1 - Step-up (superset) 3x8 - 20lb db in each hand
C2 - Prone Jack-knife 3x10 - 15, 15, 15
Cardio: 20 on elliptical level 7 avg speed 5-5.5 - Felt pretty good.
Yet another epic workout. Took SAN Launch again, seems to be a great Sat AM shove! LOL Got in the squat rack, did some warm-ups, everything was going well. Felt great. Up'd to 70 killed those 8 so I went for the 75, still great. On the last couple I was a little wobbly, but I pulled through it. Definitely happy about that. Form is getting much better. Push-ups are getting faster and more consistent, still using a bench, but it's getting easier at least. Everything else is doing well. I was doing my jack-knife stability ball crunch things and there were too women in there with me. I noticed them grab a ball after my first round and they were chatting and looking at me. So I took one of my headphones out and they were telling me how that looked cool and they wanted to try it. Kinda made me smile so I explained how to do them and went back to my workout. I saw them out of the corner of my eye, didn't do too bad. But it's harder than it looks.
On a side note: met up with a friend I haven't seen in a while after the workout. Had to help her out with something. We happen to go into Verizon and she and I were talking about AI stuff that I had given her. And the chick that was working was listening and we started talking. Don't remember how it came up but she said she started power-lifting and loved it. I was like hey that's awesome me too. I started talking about NROL4W (which I had suggested to this friend and she apparently had it on her kindle lol). Did my usual this is why you'll like it speech, she wrote down all the info and said she would check it out, sounded great. This just added to my already great high mood from an awesome workout. I left in even higher spirits.
I sent her a text later apologizing for acting like a crackhead (cause I was pretty sure I was bouncing around like a crazy person). And she kept smiling at me ... then I thought I had RecoverPro on my face or something. Apparently, she was happy to see me back in super good spirits like I used to be. I guess I had forgotten how down/mopey I had been late last year. Made me really happy to hear that. And made me realize that I had finally found something that really amped me up.
I have my Amazons to thank for that too. Everyone's progress, makes me want to push myself harder. To do better for myself. And that's exactly what I'm doing. Thanks EVERYONE! And Luv ya all!Current Log:

I'm trying to figure out if I'm just being a baby and have really bad muscle DOMs in my right calf ... or if I somehow over extended it and it's really legit pain. Hurts to flex it and walk, but it's fine if I'm sitting. I have DLs tonight which I really want to do, but I'm thinking I might have to take the night off ... BUMMER! Ugh.
Icy Hot patch is working on and off ... might have to try straight up ice in a little bit. Which should be interesting ... LOLCurrent Log:

Haha! I love how things become "mine"! "my" locker, "my" stairmaster, "my" parking spot. Best not mess with us Amazon's random gym people
I would suggest switching to ice vs the IcyHot patch. If it's muscular think RICE = Rest/Ice/Compression/Elevation and take an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen if you can.
Lookin good in here, Lex! Isn't amazing how much the gym can help your mood too! Come visit me in Swooshieland (journal) *hugs*Caring about what people think of you is useless. Most people don't even know what they think of themselves.

I'm crazy in general, but that's besides the point .. haha! No I did the same workout I do every week, just NROL4W and some cardio. I can't figure it out. I've been stretching, walking and icing all day.
I just stretched it pretty good, it might just be a weird DOM in that one leg. I'm going to attempt gym and if it's too bad just take off. It just feels weird.Last edited by lexagon; 02-20-2012 at 03:27 PM.

That's cool Lex, haha I have the same fear all the time that I have some suspicious powdery sup on my shirt or something. That's awesome this whole thing has helped you out so much, mission accomplished. And AWWWWW, tendermoment.jpg! lol I luv you guise too (partly could be the hunger talking, lmao.)
Be careful with that calf! Weird, I had the same thing happen last week righ after I did DL, had to take a couple days to let it be, then skipped squats. Just don't do anything that aggrivates it in the least! I'm a big believer of ice personally, and if you can soak it in some really hot water that should help relax it too.
^^^THIS, I love how Lex says "my rack!" I get that, I went to the gym really early last week and someone took MY LOCKER #38, I gave everyone in the area the look of death and waddled to another cubicle. It bothered me way more than it should've.

Day 16 - Workout B Week 8 - Mon 2/20/2012
A - Deadlift - 3x8 - 95lbs
B1 - DB Shoulder Press (superset) 3x8 - 30lbs
B2 - Wide-Grip Lat Pulldown 3x8 - 90lbs
C1 - Lunges (superset) 3x8 - 40lb barbell 15 each leg
C2 - Captains Chair 3x15 - 15
Cardio - 15 mins walk @ 3.0 - just wanted to stretch out, felt really good.
Decided to hit the gym regardless of calf pain. Seemed to workout great. Dropped the weight down on the DL's just in case and worked on form. Didn't up any weights tonight, everything seems to be great where it is. Only managed 7 on the last set of DB Shoulders, but that's ok. I'm a'ok with staying at the 30's for a while Made sure to stretch out my legs a lot as I rested. ESp for the lunges (did stationary instead of walking), no problems. Rock on! Just realized that I only have 2 more workouts for this stage and I'm off for a week .. wow .. already .. geez! I've made some epic progress already.
Also got a chance to test out my new HRM (Polar FT7) and I have to say I love it. Definitely got a more accurate calorie burn for the whole day. Glad I made the leap
Update: Woke up this AM, no leg stiffness or pain, just a little pull. Stretched it out and it feels great now. Who knows wtf I did to it, but it's feeling better and I have today off anyway, so I'm hoping it'll be good to go on Wed. I'd hate to miss Ultimate, I actually like getting my ass kicked.Current Log:

Me either, I looked in my binder and had to do a double take. AMRAPs on Fri/Sat and I'm done for the week. With NROL4W at least. Will probably do Spin on Mon and Ultimate Wed
Feeling much better. Little stiffness this AM, but I worked that out. Gonna keep it stretched and warmed up today so I can do Ultimate tonight. Kinda scared to see what the HRM has to say about that class. LOL I really want to see what the calorie burn is though. I've been estimating.
Nothing special last night. Cleaned the house pretty good, today's trash day. Got some food prepped and errands run. Then flopped down for some TV and relaxing. Always a good night Plus I woke up this AM and realized that tomorrow is my Friday. Bummed about the cut in hours from work, but happy to have long weekends for a month at leastCurrent Log:
