I'm looking for something that will help with memory/mental sharpness. I know most of these are probably placebos, but has anyone used one that actually seemed to do anything positive?
I've tried anaracetam and had little to no results. Heard of "Alpha brain" but seen mixed reviews...

I'm looking for some type of nootropic formula as well, i use Focus XT for the gym and love it, but was looking for something different for work. Came across this: Mind set by Haleo (dont have enough posts to link yet). It's available in the BB store. It looks like a good combination of nootropics...can anyone chime in on this?

People have reported ALCAR has helped them after consistant use.
It's not something you take pre-lecture and BOOM! It takes time till it works.
Anyway :
Fish oil shows a significant improvement in mental/cognitive function after consistant use.
A multivitamin would be good to stack with fish oil, Vitamin E, B6-12 and the minerals Folic Acid and Magnesium help with brain power.
Stack both of them.

In regards to Alpha Brain, I don't think it's a bad product but it's a very expensive product, my guess is that a lot of that cost is in the PS. PS is simply not a cheap ingredient, period. How well PS works however, that is debatable.

Yes, you are correct in a very general sense. Thus Focus XT makes a good stimulatory base (especially the caffeine version) for other nootropics or even as a preworkout. Great product, priced well.
Looking at Alpha Brain's profile however, it just does not appear that they were going for a stimulatory effect with the product and instead going for neuroprotective and memory improvement. Especially when you consider that they have PS, pterostilbene, and AC-11 (interesting ingredient, has some research studies behind it under the name c-med-100, it's a patented ingredient and Onnit seems to be the only one that has a license for it), these ingredients all focus on cell repair.Completed Logs & Reviews:

Again, the stuff does not appear to be aimed at being focused on stimulatory. It's also obviously designed more toward 3-4 caps a day. 2 caps minimum.
If you go to the nootropics/longevity forums or reddit, high dosing is not the usual protocol and too much stimulation is usually counterproductive. Also, when your combining ingredients, taking the dosing scheme of ingredient Y from study X and combining it with the dosing scheme of ingredient A from study B may not be the way to go as you are looking for synergy.
PS is around $40 a bottle for 100 mg caps @ 60 caps. That alone is an expensive ingredient. The AC-11 doesn't appear cheap either and has a lot of research on it specifically.
So for what they appear to be going for, it would seem like it will do what it claims to do (plus they've just released their preliminary study on Alpha Brain, with a more extensive study ongoing). So I don't see how they underdosed things for the intents and purposes of this specific product, you're probably assuming things are underdosed because the studies for ingredient XYZ was used at dose ABC, but you need to keep in mind that the data for them are based on efficaciousness of the ingredient in isolation.Completed Logs & Reviews:
