Has anyone really enjoyed the mesmer?

I am use to playing warrior type classes, but the mesmer seems interesting.

i played a mesmer with a greatsword glass cannon build (fun as hell pre-nerf, still good but not as OP anymore) and sword/pistol illusion spec. completely wrecked kids in pvp, i could go 4v1 and survive. that will change, once people get used to the classes but against sh!tty kids it's a hell of a lot of fun. check out some of Team Paradigm's vids on youtube for really great pvp

hope this game really proves to be interesting.

i built my gaming pc but i haven't really played games since i did it.

civ 5? fun, cool but meh. doesn't capture my attention.
aion? boring
rift? cool for first 3 lvls, now boring as phuck.
tera? sick combat system everything else sucks.
tribes ascend? cool. but i'd rather pay 50 bucks for the game instead of this payment crap... not too interesting.
dayz mod? played for like 1 hour at most. nobody to play with. boring. it's in alpha and the controls are completely clunky.

the only game that i constantly play to this day is counter strike.

hopefully you won't have every warrior with the same build or any class with the same build.

hybrids are the best.

Honestly, I think theres going to be lots and lots of different builds per class that are actually GOOD to use. For example, the engineer will have a support, offense and defensive spec and those will branch into lots of specs as well. Yeah theres gonna be a few builds that most people use, but I feel like the possibilities are endless.

yeah definitely, i love the fact that u can have an entire team of engineers and still own everybody since u can have 2 offense 2 defense and 1 support

and that applies to every class pretty much

Was it a pre-order or pre-purchase? You have to pre-purchase the game not pre-order.

I agree, which is making me rethink rolling one of them because everyone is going to be a sylvari or an asura. human will definitely be the least popular race, as it doesn't aesthetically offer much to the table.

I reckon there will be a big spike of sylvari at launch, I think human will always be the most popular because it's the most familiar though. If we had orcs and elves it would be up in the air, but people new to the guild wars universe are just going to pick whatever looks the coolest, or whatever feels the most familiar to them. Almost every game has humans and they always seem to be popular.

I could have sworn I saw some miscers listed on the Maguuma server in the ingame guild tab.

You can play on another server as a guest if your friends are on it, you just can't play in WvW for them and you still get the WvW buffs from your home world, not the one you're guesting on. As far as I know you can't join a guild cross server so I'm not sure what was going on there.

Necromancer felt weak/disjointed though, but maybe it was just because the pet system in game is currently whacked. Tried running a pet necro like in GW1 and I got stomped.

Necro is amazing with the right build, take a look at some of team paradigms necro builds. Only builds with more survivability are a def guardian (lol brb tanking 3 people), and in 1v1 situations a mace warrior with the healing wep swap.

what are you brahs planning to do this BWE? Im planning to play my mesmer and necro again and try to understand the concept of leveling in WvW. I also might look into crafting if I get bored of WvW

You can be in multiple guilds in GW2, no problems there. Leveling is cool, you can PVE, PVP or WvWvW and gain exp and level through either one of those options.

Yeah, once I saw the other 2 races are playable I dropped that idea.

We'll probably choose our main server closer to release, I'd say sometime in August would be a good idea.
