    Does using hott sauce on every meal make you burn calories more?

    i was trying to read up on something i heard from someone who is pretty knowledgable. he was saying that if you use hot sauce on every meal the calorie count will drop down almost 40%. the science is that the hot sauce burns the calories in your stomach before you can digest them all

    it makes sence when you think about it. every time i have mexican or Thai food im never full after a couple hours and dont get fat


    im currently on a major bulk so thats why i want to know more info i NEED these calories not waste them

    When I cut, I only drink hot sauce. This way, I burn 140% of 0 calories a day and lose 6 lbs a second.

    This is old news OP

    What you really need to do is realize that hot sauce is acidic, and vinegar even more so

    Take about a spoonful of white vinegar with every morsel of food you consume and you will see an even greater increase in metabolism.

    I am 100% sure hot food burns calories more than non-hot food.

    Sweating, faster heart rate etc, its getting your body to do more things.

    Call it broscience or whatever, but to me its clear as daylight

    Waiting for someone with a phd to do the studies but i doubt it would be 40%.

    acidic marinades/toppings might make it easier for your stomach to break down the food but either way the HCL in your stomach is going to digest it so it doesnt really matter what you are eating with it. The only thing it might help with is if you ate a huge ass meal and drank something acidic like vinegar or sour grape extract it would make you feel less bloated

    Fat oxidation (g/h) after weight maintenance was higher in the capsaicin group compared with placebo (4.2 (SD 1.1) v. 3.5 (SD 0.9), P<0.05). These results indicate that capsaicin treatment caused sustained fat oxidation during weight maintenance compared with placebo. However, capsaicin treatment has no limiting effect on 3-month weight regain after modest weight loss.


    It increases it for about 30 minutes, although studies are varied on how much the increase is. It's about 15% IMO.

    Consumption of spicy foods containing capsaicin, the major pungent principle in hot peppers, reportedly promotes negative energy balance. However, many individuals abstain from spicy foods due to the sensory burn and pain elicited by the capsaicin molecule. A potential alternative for nonusers of spicy foods who wish to exploit this energy balance property is consumption of nonpungent peppers rich in capsiate, a recently identified nonpungent capsaicin analog contained in CH-19 Sweet peppers. Capsiate activates transient receptor potential vanilloid subtype 1 (TRPV1) receptors in the gut but not in the oral cavity. This paper critically evaluates current knowledge on the thermogenic and appetitive effects of capsaicin and capsiate from foods and in supplemental form. Meta-analyses were performed on thermogenic outcomes, with a systematic review conducted for both thermogenic and appetitive outcomes. Evidence indicates that capsaicin and capsiate both augment energy expenditure and enhance fat oxidation, especially at high doses. Furthermore, the balance of the literature suggests that capsaicin and capsiate suppress orexigenic sensations. The magnitude of these effects is small. Purposeful inclusion of these compounds in the diet may aid weight management, albeit modestly.
