Lightbulb Supps for the wifey, needed advice!

hello, i havent posted in years but if there is a reason good enough for it , it is to help my wife.....she is full time working mom of a 19 months baby who is our pride and joy, but as you could imagine he needs a lot of attention and energy, and that´s where the help is needed, she hasnt worked out in over 2 years, maybe once or twice but not regularly.....she is slim no excess weight , at the most she needs to lose 5 lbs or so. She really wants to start working out but her job is very demanding and leaves her drained and energyless......she takes a multivitamin, eats a balanced diet so her lack of energy has nothing to do with a nutrition point of view more like she has a lot in her plate.....at most shes in need of a good BCAA source.

she´s not used to have energy sups or anything at all besides multis and protein, so i need something for her that doesnt give jitters or TOO STRONG, i would prefer a supp that gives her energy throughout the day if not a good preworkout drink , THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR THE HELP.

a 19 mo old baby and a demanding job. she doesn't need supps. she probably needs sleep! regardless, you say her diet is good, but what does it consist of? what are her cals and macro's and what kind of foods is she eating? all that plays a huge role in energy. i personally don't think a preworkout drink is what she needs.
    i second what wp said.

mausi79 and i were separated at birth.

i don't believe in iifym (for physique purposes, yes, but for health and wellness, no), but i do believe you should seriously love every single thing you eat.

lifetime reps to el, wp, kim, amanda and rowyn

I would suggest 5-HTP , it helps with energy and mood enhancement as well as B12

i agree with the sleep advice, i guess we all could use more sleep time.......regarding the questions about the cals and macros, i couldnt tell, all i know is that she eats 3 full meals and 2 snacks inbetween, a guess would be around 1600 -1800 cals a day but not that rigid with an occasional burger, candy or donut.......her macros from what i´ve seen could be 40-40-20 but its a guess i mean she eats her portion of protein, carbs and some fat......more i couldnt say

I have a 17 month old and totally understand. Does she have a gym membership to a place with daycare? I find that if I can get into the gym 3-4x a week and have someone else care for the child, it makes it a lot easier to get energy and focus once in the gym. Working out with the baby in the house can be very distracting. In the gym, you can put in your earphones and zone out of Mommyland for an hour or two.

agree w/ sonti, but also wanna go on record again that i think diet is crucial. getting enough calories, having a well-balanced diet, lots of whole, unprocessed foods and playing w/ macro distributions (maybe she does better on more fat, maybe better on more carbs) could really make a big difference. i know it's not the advice you're asking for, but i always think that's tops to supplements. more powerful and the best place to start before deciding that a supp should be included.

dont get me wrong i really apreciate your input, in fact i spoke with her yesterday and truth be told her diet looks more unbalanced that i originally thought, she doesnt eat that much fast food, her sources mostly are good but her calories are too few and her snacks and breakfast are not ballanced....shocker, no wonder her energy levels are so low

Have her try a Vitamin D supplement. It helps with mood, energy, and weight management.. Plus calcium absorbtion. if she is going to work out she should in the AM. It will be helpful to keep her energy all day long.
When I use a preworkout I like to do super pump max, focus xt, body rush, or maniac, they don't make me get jittery and I don't crash.
A breakfast with a balance of carbs, fat and protein is the key. It will be helpful for energy.
I remember those days of little ones... it's draining.
I hope this helps some. I find working out early helps me to get it in and get the energy. Good luck to her and you!

good point. i stand behind my "diet no supp" thing, but think every woman should take vit d, calcium, fish oil, and a multi. not sure it'll help here, but it'll def help in general.

Exactly. Make sure she's consuming enough omegas. So many women are fat-phobic and can definitely help with her overall well being.

I remember those days of little ones... it's draining.
I hope this helps some. I find working out early helps me to get it in and get the energy. Good luck to her and you!
