    Too much chocolate milk? Diabetes?

    Hi,

    I drink a half gallon of chocolate milk post-workout, over the course of 2-3 hours. I drink about a quart immediately after.

    Someone made a comment the other day, "You're not worried about diabetes?"

    Should I be?

    talk to a doctor.. outstanding advice.

    why would i take the time to talk to a doctor who may or may not have an answer when i can spend 30 seconds seeing if anyone has something useful to say relating to the effects of massive amounts of lactose on the body?

    If you're significantly overweight, you should worry about diabetes. If not, you shouldn't.



    Your friend is a moron. There is a corollary relationship between sweets and diabetes---fat people tend to eat a lot of sweets, fat people get diabetes. It doesn't mean drinking chocolate milk gives you diabetes.

    Because 99% of this forum does not have 8+ years of education behind them, plus at least 8 years in the practice, and most likely closer to 20 years in the practice.
