    NASM bro's, where to start?

Disclaimer: I turn 18 in two weeks.

Where should I start studying for all of this? Do I have to/should I buy the CPT "pro" package from their website, or is there a better way to go about it? Are there free practice tests online? I'm about to download the NASM Iphone app, but I cant seem to find much else right now besides the 700-1000 dollar "pro" packages on the NASM website. CPR/AED certs are already done. I'll be starting college in august (biochem, hoping to be a physical therapist eventually) and figured this would be a great way to spend free time during the summer studying/prepare for my career field/make some extra money for college tuition.

EDIT: I've read several of the threads relating to taking the NASM exam and strategies for studying, guess I'll delve into those until i get a response

You can get just the book itself on Amazon for about 65 bucks. Start there. Read it, learn it, understand it, study it. While you're going through that scrape some money together to buy the study materials from NASM down the road. Also check out www.medpreps.com for some practice tests (they're on a subscription so it'll cost 30 bucks a month to use those) but don't bother doing those tests until you've gone through the book at the least. Hope it helps.

Thanks man I appreciate it, I can swing the cash for the study materials but just wasnt sure if they were essential. Would it be possible to pass simply by learning/understanding every concept in the textbook? And if I do shell out the cash for the study materials is there a certain package I would benefit most from?
