What do you guys have for your PWO food/drink?

I am one of those people who, before spending too much time reading the Nutrition forum, would have a dextrose + protein shake PWO (although I'm currently having choc milk atm).

Now I understand that's completely broscience, so am curious as to what you guys eat or drink PWO? Am thinking of switching to a food rather than a shake, or having just a protein shake afterwards instead of elsewhere in the day.

I train in a fasted state and then have a full meal several hours after my workout.

Nothing wrong with chocolate milk if that's what you like.

OP, if you have a tub of whey sitting around and don't want it to go to waste, you can always add a scoop of whey to either milk or choc milk, which is what I do when rushed/lazy.

Of course, any whole food protein + carb source is always solid advice.

I work out with food an hour prior or do it fasted and then eat about 4-6 hours later. Eating right after makes me sick.

I like to have pieces of toast. I smear two tablespoons worth (no more!) of Natural Peanut-butter all over both pieces of toast. I then proceed to apply sugar-free jelly. I then pour 1.5 cups worth of milk, measured out. Maybe then I'll have a piece of fruit such as a banana or an apple. Chew.

Vegemite is fairly popular in the UK but the more well know British equivalent is 'marmite'. It's of a similar disposition but tastes slightly 'earthier' I guess - Around at all in the states?

You can find it in specialty shops with a bit of work but it is mostly unknown and pretty far outside of the American palate.

Pre workout I prefer nothing for at least 3 hours. Post I generally eat a large meal. Occasionally I'll make a whey / milk shake for satiety and eat later.

yeah I would hardly say us Brits are ravenous for it either - it's evident from their slogan 'you either love it or hate it'. Though they have released a brand of dark chocolate with a hint of marmite - sounds rank but surprisingly moorish!

Currently my preferred meal a few hours after training is a nice juicy cheeseburger with all the trimmings, and a side of veggies (e.g. carrots with hummus).

I typically have 2 scoops of ON Gold Standard (Banana), 1 cup of frozen Strawberries, and 1 cup of Almost Milk, with some ON Fitness Fiber added in. It tastes pretty good especially with the frozen strawberries.

I do a shake after training followed by a solid food meal an hour or so later. After a brutally hard training session, eating a whole food meal is one of the last things I want to do.

bro, chobani strawberry is by far the best greek yogurt flavor/brand out there! I usually eat it plain because it has more protein, but occasionally i'll have strawberry flavor. Have you tried the honey? looks interdasting to me.

60g whey isolate + 90g oatmeal. 1hr later, i eat again. mainly steak n sweet potatoes n veggies.
