To buy weight gainer, or not to buy weightgainer

So as it is I have little money (Being a teen) and I want to gain weight. SO the question is to buy weight gainer? Or to spend the $34 on more food or meal replacement bars for school and then to just make home made weight gainers? I dunno how I would even make a home made weight gainer. Milk + Peanut butter + Blend and hope to god It doesn't taste like absolute garbage?

Food is the best weight gainer.

You can also do whey, oats, peanut butter, and milk for your shakes

Protein is protein. In the long run food is better. I don't usually make homemade shakes but eat a lot of meat. Don't worry about how it tastes. Don't let taste hold u back from getting big.

Food is always better , as the fellas above have mentioned. The word supplement says it ; it replaces a meal. But your best bet is food! Supplements should be used for that extra boost you need if food isn't available to you in high quantities 24/7. It should not replace a healthy diet!
The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity , answered "Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

All right I'll try oats milk peanutbutter and protein powder blended and see how it works out. And i'll spend the $34 on something else. Guess i'll just buy a better quality powder or something.

    Thanks

Quick question, what's the difference between a $30 protein powder and a $50 one? I mean, isn't it all just whey protein? Protein = Protein. Aside from quantity, what difference could there be?

that's a really broad question. Could be how fast it is ingested , or what else is added , or simply the quantity of grams per serving. It could be many things! don't stress over products. Stress over lacking sleep or not having trained hard enough! those are MUCH more important than powder.

There's nothing wrong with weight gainer as long as you aren't depending on it for the majority of your calories. You need to focus on consuming whole foods. But one or two a day won't hurt you.

usually the cheaper ones contain like a few grams of carbs. Some brahs who are afraid of carbs freak out about that. Honestly, I think the whey from wal-mart (body fortress for like 13 bucks a tub) works just fine. Thats the only supplement I use besides a multi.

Its always a good idea to have a weight gainer shake if you havent consumed enough calories in a day. Say you need to consume an extra 600 calories that you werent able to get with normal food because maybe you were busy. Or if you hit that wall and just cant eat anymore food without feeling sick. In my opinion consuming a liquid is easier than solid food. But dont substitute a gainer shake for a meal, Just as an extra kick like a few members said above.

Most of the weight gainers are garbage.

Spend your money on the dollar menu at McDonalds IMO.
