will squatting so that my glutes touch a box help me learn to sit back into the squat

as the title says as oppose to doing back squats would squatting back onto a box and literally touching my glutes on the box teach me to sit back into the squat, from what i read its not a box squat in a box squat you completely sit down taking all the weight
    thanks for any input

Not really. The way most people do box squats don't help train taht at all. It just merely gives them a depth marker as they continue to squat straight down.

However, if you do them how they're supposed to be used as an assistance exercise, then yes it can.
