    Hungry all the time....

    For the past 3 days I have felt hungry all the time. I just can't seem to stop eating.....I even wake up in the night and eat too. Have tried really hard to control myself...anyone know why i'm like this? lol Thanks

    We need more details.. Cutting? Bulking? Maintaining?

    It could be that time of the month, unless you are male.

    It could also have to do with you being 5'6" and 120 lbs. Just eat if you are hungry.

    well if i'm reading correctly you are 120 lbs and you are posting this on a website dedicating to bodybuilding, weight lifting, etc. assuming you are lifting weights/exercising to some degree one would gather that you need more food lol what does your diet look like?

    I am female but it's not totm.

    I haven't managed to post any pics on here yet as my camera has broken. Even though I am 120lbs im wanting to cut bf. I train 5 - 6 days a week with weights and have in the last 3 weeks started training heavier with my weights. I think i fear eating more will hamper me leaning out even though im training.

    Typical day for me would be:

    Oats and proteing shake

    Protein shake and apple

    Chicken, salad

    Nuts and cottage cheese

    More chicken or fish and veg

    Greek yogurt

    You need to get rid of the protein shakes and eat real food. A little variety would be nice as well but if you like it then so be it.

    protein shake and an apple sound like a good pre workout "meal" but maybe have some eggs in the morning IMO would be much more satisfying, i mean a macro breakdown of the foods you listed would be more helpful in determining why you would still be hungry i.e. serving sizes, fat content etc.

    You need to post your maintenance calories, how many calories you are eating, and the macronutrient partitioning of said calories.

    That said, you are hungry because you are starving your body.

    It obviously would depend on the person. A shake does not stay with me as long as meat. Nobody needs a study to tell them if they are hungry or not.

    Beg to differ... on my cuts I focused specifically on volume/satiety and I noticed that a half whey/half casein shake in morning with PB or nuts was very satiating, more so than an equivalent 300 calorie meal of actual food.

    When I used to consume protein shakes, one of my primary complaints was low satiety compared to an isocaloric meal composed of, for example, steak.

    If a male were on here stating that his goal is to be underweight, he would be reamed to hell and back. But if it's a female, she gets tips on her anorexia goals.

    eta: OP, why don't you just eat slightly above maintenance (by 150-200 calories) so that you build some muscle and improve body composition. You will look better than just starving yourself down. You also won't be as hungry.

    Attempting to lose weight at 5'6" tall and 120 pounds is a really bad idea, but given the prevalence of dysmorphophobia on this forum, it's not surprising...and nor is the double standard.
