The sadness definitely made the anime have a very strong impact, but I personally loved it because of the connection and backgrounds with the characters in the show. That's personally what I look for in an anime, and it's what I find the most important part. Getting to like the characters because of knowing why they act the way they act is a really important factor in relating to them and the anime as a whole, and giving you that "Oh hey, it's ____ in this scene, what're they gonna do now!?" feeling.Originally Posted by Studskies

1. Kenpachi and Aizen were explicitly mentioned to be a part of them, and Yama-jii was explicitly mentioned to NOT be a part of them. Ichigo may be one of them. It might be translation dependent. I re-read 480 to the current chapter and saw that Opie (J - The Jail; the guy in Hueco Mundo) called Ichigo a "special weapon". I'm not 100% sure he meant Ichigo was a Special War Potential. Holy ****, just watched episode 10 of the Legend of Korra. **** got real.
Gonna put it on par with the original Avatar series. Much better in artwork for sure. Two episodes left. Gonna try to savour them as much as possible because the wait for Book 2 is not gonna be fun.
