Tell them they'd be better off researching the topic themselves. You, admittedly, don't know what you're doing.
And they don't need supps.

agreed. and read the stickies. nutrition and training prgms are there. also, btw, cutting is like bulking. bulking = eating at a surplus and lifting heavy. cutting = eating at a deficit and lifting heavy. so it doesn't matter if you've never cut. but, like beth said, doesn't sound like you're knowledgeable enough to help them.
i second what wp said.

i don't believe in iifym (for physique purposes, yes, but for health and wellness, no), but i do believe you should seriously love every single thing you eat.

well
1) these girls may just find you attractive and are trying to find a way to talk to you.
2) IF these girls are actually serious about a program and lifting. I recommend Jamie Easons LIve Fit Program. Its 12 weeks consisting of 3, 4 week phases of lifting, cardio, and diet. It is on bb.com, its free, they can print the workouts off everyday, and it comes with a diet plan to follow. The program also suggests what supplements are good to use. Multi vitamins, fish oil, BCAA's, CLA, possibly a pre workout, and of course PROTEIN POWDER is #1
3) and I agree with these ladies, they really need to do the research themselves. Bodybuilding.com has SOOOO much information that they need, all it takes is a little effort. Some girls are just too lazy to do the work and research themselves. I have 12 girls i am helping right now because they "dont know where to start"
Hope this helps!

If they are college girls tell them to cut the alcohol and increase the exercise. That has to be the number one thing that keeps chicks in their early 20's from maintaining a low weight.

AGREED 100%!! All my friends who are a little pudgy all party way too much. I cut drinking out to only special occassions and have seen a huge difference in my body (not too mention more money in my pocket!)

i made it crystal clear that i'm not interested in hooking up with them, and that i will not waste my time doing the research and putting stuff together if they're not going to follow through. luckily, none of them drink alcohol. it's just there eating habits, most of them are starting to cut down and chill on the calories and fats. the other one is in winter bulking season with me because she's an ectomorph and wants to put on mass and ass.
also, i'm trying to get them out of the mindset that they don't have to starve themselves all day with these crazy malnourished diets. it's hard to break that because of their anxiety.

some of them are really paranoid about bcaa, protein, etc. because it's "unnatural and will turn them manly"...also, majority of the stuff in the industry doesn't work and 8/10 times are all hype and placebo effect. when i order my next stack i'll just get some free sample so they can try things out and see what works for them, don't want them to waste money running into GNC and get scammed. as far as the site goes, i've told them to hop in this section and create a profile because i won't be there to answer questions all of the time. and 1 million minds are better than one.

wahahhhhh....srsly? I'm considering spending time to acquire PT certifications, if you truly feel this way maybe I should re-evaluate my life...yet again.
they asked you to help them "lose weight"
It's easy, calories spent > calories consumed.
What is not easy is putting your level of dedication and passion for lifting and working out into someone else.
The human mind is capable of rationalizing crazy things.
One cheat day turns into every 3 days into every other day, and the amount of time spent on lifting/strict diet declines.
You're going to have to do an overall on their diet. If you're eating oreos all day and all of a sudden you have to eat 40% less calories...wtf.
I'm gonna rage when instead of eating half a pack of oreos I'm eating only 3 or 4. Apply that feeling to their whole diet. It's overwhelming and no fun.
It will be easier if you're capable of finding healthy replacements.
If they have a go-to snack that is high in calories, low in nutrional value, not beneficial get them to switch to something else.
Also I'd be rich every time I met a girl that said she wasn't a picky eater. I'm sure this applies to people in general however I'm normally not concerned with what guys eat because I don't have to cook for them.
Not sure where I'm going with this, I woke up 30min ago because I was hungry...
----
- less calories
- more easily done with different diet
- find way to convey/transfer/use osmosis to make them motivated
-- as for the girl bulking with you, she'll have to be lifting heavier imo if she wants to add mass and be more strict with meal times / getting in protein.
-- losing weight is easy, go through a breakup, struggle to eat 1 meal a day, profit.

Reason: also if a girl said that she could be interested in you, wanting to spend time doing one of your hobbies, seeing you all manly n whatnot.

LOL really? They will NOT get unnatural or manly using BCAA or protein supplements. As a women we are not chemically built the same so we can not get "manly" unless we are on steroids etc.. Lifting heavy and taking protein is the only way to get muscle as a girl. I used to think the same thing when I didnt know anything, now that ive studied about this I realize that we can lift heavy and take protein and it will NOT make us look manly. Do i look manly? Im 107lbs, I lift heavy and take protein. BCAA's are not unnatural either, they help with blood sugar regulation, and increasing LEAN muscle mass. I take scivation xtend for an intra workout to get my BCAA's, glutamine etc. I see WAY better results using XTEND than I did when I stopped using it. Dont go into GNC, Nutrisport, Max Muscle or whatever you guys have there, they are way too expensive. Order all of your sup's off of bodybuilding.com, saves way more money and they can read for themselves what others have said about the product and how its worked for them. And yes a bodyspace would be helpful, keeps them accountable and they can read forums to get some informations.
I may not be there yet, But I am closer than I was yesterday <3

Step 1: Pick up fork.
Step 2 (CRUCIAL STEP): Put down fork.
Anyone who is serious about losing weight will understand that, research it themselves and progress. The rest will be disappointed, look for quick gimmicks and useless supplements (did I see glutamine mentioned up there somewhere...?) and quit.
Don't get involved.

Former Fatty
I am a big advocate for the book New Rules of Lifting For Women. It's about $15 on amazon or at barnes and noble. It's a program that will run about 6-7 months if done all the way through. there is a Stage that can be left out if a woman isn't concerned with shear strength gains, thus making the program run a little faster (I will be partaking in that Stage)
The Stages change every 3-4 weeks, so it helps break up any boredom. and it only has a woman in the gym for lifting 3x a week.
There is a section on nutrition that breaks it down fairly easy. And it's not all celery and boiled chicken. They talk about eating 'normal' foods and learning how to control portions and eating for fuel.
I have been doing the program since since the middle of June and have lost about 15lbs on that program alone and I've lost about 2 clothing sizes.
I'm gonna be one to watch in 2012. Just wait and see.
