So are any of you "that house" on halloween?

You know, the house that gives kids an apple instead of candy?

    Not cool, not cool man.

Took my daughter around the neighborhood and noticed that most people were giving out suckers or the cheap stuff like smarties. Not much chocolate. We gave out the good stuff well at least I think so. M&M's, Reese cups and snickers. Glad its all gone don't think I could have resisted the reeses cups.

Its easier to calculate an apple in your macros than candy
Considering that you're a vegetarian I would think that you would appreciate that.

But srs. I spent like $100 bucks on candy just for tonite

I'm one of those that turns off all of the lights and hides in a back room til' around 11:00! Sad, but true!!! I once gave out Marlboro lights. The kids loved it, but I got a visit from the sheriff the next day! I forgot to buy any candy. Oops!

Nope, we gave out the good stuff. I was hoping it was all gone, too.

Woke up early this morning to watch the 2nd half of the Chiefs vs. Chargers....gotta love DVR. Went into the kitchen to brew some java and there are 5 mini Snickers beside the coffee maker.

WTF? Someone is effing with me, bigtime. It's a known fact that Snickers were one of my 4 food groups, along with Bud Light, fried chicken, biscuits and breads of all types. It's a known fact that I now don't touch the mess.....at all.

Maybe they were testing me....."Let's see if Dad will cave in....leave a few by his coffee". I'll get the rascals.

I bought 2 big bags of candy at Rite Aid, assortment of M&Ms, Snickers, Twix, etc. I gave them out 2 or 3 at a time in order to get rid of the bulk of them. The last kids came through around 7:30 so it was a quiet night.

I give out regular candy. A mix of baby ruth, snickers and sour stuff.

Just so everyone knows, the kids like the sweet tarts and smarties better than choclate.

Its the adults that like the choclate better.

No one like apples or popcorn balls or erasers.

The best thing i ever gave away was little plastic mice and spiders and the like, the kids flipped over them and when given a choice chose the toy over the candy.

I was having fun out playing with my kid so I didn't give out the candy...I left it in a basket by the front door serve yourself style. It was the big bag from Costco with nerds, smarties, taffy, skittles, etc. There was a lady in the neighborhood giving out full size candy bars. One house had a hockey net set up and you had to earn your candy by taking a shot.

The hockey net is dumb. I'd egg that house.

I gave out $1 to every kid that came by. Nothing left over for me to eat and get fat, and I feel better about not making them fatter.

I think the net is a hoot!

If it's an empty net, it's easy and all good fun. If the next Martin Brodeur is in net, it's a challenge, but I'd reward you just for trying.

Only the good stuff, 1 candy per kid, we had 470 candies that went out, then we had 50 mini bags of oreos we gave out, then turned the light off. AND they would knock on the door with lights out and door shut.

Best part, I was handing out candy in normal clothes, there were many kids who were scared of me, with no costume ! LMAO My girlfriend is like your so mean LOL.
    Keep it simple

When I live in a house, I'll probably hand out mini bags of trail mix or something. I don't want to give candy to children but I don't want be the prick that gives out apples and mouthwash either so I think trail mix w/MAYBE a few chocolate chips would be a good middleground.

Honeycrisp apples are 2.57 a pound here. I wish I knew of a house giving those away. I'd have had my son go there, say please, and score me a few.
