How do you athletes go about getting sponsored? If anyone can lead me in the right direction I'd really appreciate your input
Thank you in advance!

This is 100% true.
We get a good number of people who will contact us wanting to be sponsored.
I ask them how will they be sure they can help us sell more product.
I have never seen anyone show how it would actually happen.
If a person REALLY believes they will increase sales maybe they should become a reseller of that companies products to show they actually will increase sales of their products..

Email is probably the least effective way of promoting yourself, let's face it, we all get tons of email each day and probaly pay attention to 10% of those that are important to us. My suggestion is get your resume in order, get some nice prints done and attend the next major BB event, e.g. The Arnold, The O, etc. and meet the companies you are interested in face to face. It's a lot tougher not to listen to someone when they are right in front of you, it's a lot easier to delete an email. Good luck, keep a good attitude.

i have a decent idea.. its at least a good start, and i can see a person getting some decent inet exposer. you can apply to everysingle company promo that comes up that you can comit to fullfilling. theres some dudes around here that im sure get everything they need off this sight. now it might not be a paycheck but your ripped in your avi and if the word gets around about you and you actuall can offer something i can see somewere down the line u might get a sponsorship. heres a shill example: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=139832893
apply for that stack and really impress us u might get atleast a temporary sponsor see what im saying. once you have several logs and reviews it gets easier and easier to win some of these promos and then possibly onto bigger and better things.. but atleast while your trying to find something start winning some promos and gets your supplements for free ?? i mean your gonna train anyhow and you like anyone else wants to know what works for them and hell these days between samples and company promos theres no reason to buy cruddy sups anymore.. you can pretty much try alot of this stuff out in return for a peice of your life ... and that gets u traffic and exporsure... no matter how small it is, its something.

this is pretty hard though as there are probably a dozen going on at any given time...how many can you really commit to?? I am in one supplement company challenge currently and it takes a committment...the only problem I have with waiting to go to the Arnold to seek out sponsor hip is its several months away..I just came off my competitive run and wanted to strike while the iron was still hot so to speak.

Just competing and winning isn't going to make you stand out any better than the other 1000's of athletes that compete and win every day. For a company to sponsor an athlete they are going to expect a very good ROI which will be hard to do unless you are already a well recognized athlete or standout in some way far better than others that will drive customers to buy the products you are endorsing.
Such much Placebo in here.

I'm just getting started into the bodybuilding world. Being an ex football players i know about lifting weights, but now I'm trying to learn how to lift to build a better body for myself. My question is do supplement companies sponsor athletes who are not that cut up but are trying to get there? Meaning, the athlete will represent their product by showing the fitness world i got into great shape by using their products.
