How should you buy chicken breasts?

I've never had quality bagged chicken breasts. pre-cooked or frozen. any guides?

I can usually get boneless/skinless chicken breasts at Kroger for $2.29 a lb or less in the 3-pack.

I typically go to walmart and get family packs. A lot of the time they try to get rid of chicken that is nearing the sell by date. $1.39 a pound is what i get it for in bulk and i freeze some of it and cook the rest up for my meals for the week.
