You've got it right, but I'm not sure how you cna cope with 60+ mins of LISS cardio + weightlifting. I mean, you may be overtraining and not even knowing it...Do you feel energetic during the day or are you tired all the time? I mean, don't get me wrong, 60+ mins of significantly LOW intensity cardio may not be enough to cause YOU to overtrain, but it does seem a bit much. Why don't you walk instead of doing all that cardio?
May?! Damn, brah, the holidays must be tough on you...GL!
Yeah, strength shouldn't be affected too much by cutting. Good job!
No refeeds? Either way, that's some serious dedication...
As for the OP, I've seriously cut about three times. The last one, unfortunately, lasted for about five months (after a couple months of "clean" bulking and some mini-cuts), and by the end I was very, very exhausted. I've gained a bit of bf% since my last cut (about 12% now), and I don't think I'm going to try to hit 10% or under again because I really don't see the point in doing so. I guess my opinions may change as summer approaches, but right now, I'm hoping to either continue maintaining or gain a bit of LBM while trying to keep bf% the same...hopefully!If you have any question regarding health, fitness, nutrition, or anything else (really, ANYthing), feel free to PM me.

Got off a 10 month cut back in June/early July. Gained size pretty good and up 40 lbs and 6% BF. Had some binging issues towards end that led me to 15.5% from 10%. So just bulking and putting on size and strength. When I feel my bench is worthy (and the other 2 of the big 3) I am going to cut slowly. Will probably be another 4 months me thinks. Then going to eat 10% under for 12 weeks for awhile with maint. levels for 2 weeks.

That's what I get for letting myself become a fat piece of ****. I deserve it and I've learned my lesson. May is the latest but I might hit my goal sooner. I'm just trying to get around 12-13% so I can start LeanGains recomp. I'm guessing 145 is where I need to be for that.
“Go back?" he thought. "No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”

240(ish). March - December I went to about 196. Didn't track anything. Didn't diet, just tried to make 'better' choices and lift hard/do a little cardio. December - Feburary(ish) got to ~182. Did a diet break and probably bumped up to about 186-188. Started cutting hard around the middle of march to be ready by April 15th. April 15th I weighed in at 180. Diet break 2 for about 1 month. Bumped back to ~186. Cut from near the end of May to August. Ended up at 172.5.
Most of it was stupid. When I started tracking macros, I was getting between 1900-2100 calories and barely reaching 20g of fat a day with cardio twice daily. To put that in comparison to bulk I'm averaging 3,850 and doing 5 less hours of cardio. I was eating ~BMR, lifting 5 days, cardio 2x/daily every day, and getting 20g of fat. Goodbyeee hormones.

I lost a lot of leg muscle cutting quick too. Its coming back pretty fast now. I am still down about 50lbs on squats though, so I still have catching up to do.
Thing is I am prolly still 15-16% Bf. SO my next cut in Spring is likely gunna be better planned and executed. I really wanna see like 10-11%.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think refeeds can be a valuable tool at lower BF %. I did 'refeeds' twice weekly at the end of my cut. I just ate at maintenance, lowered protein, lowered fat, raised carbs a shizz ton.
If you still maintain a proper deficit, you can work these in and have it not affect your progress at all. They can be incorporated to help keep gym intensity high, help you 'fill' out, and keep general sanity. Also, I think they help from people binging/having larger refeeds that will impeded progress. Use it smartly and effectively and it can be a beneficial tool, imo.

my first ever cut started at about 195 around 18-20% Jan this year. I didn't want to cut down to nothing so I bulked up to a max of around 220 over about 6 months. I have been cutting consistently for the last nearly 5 months i'm back down to my pre bulk weight now with around a 5% difference in BF. Hoping to get down to 10-12% by Christmas.
