low-fat dressing

Someone recently told me that I should not eat fat-free dressing because, besides tasting like crap, whatever they use in it is actually worse for you than the fat in the dressing. Does anyone know anything about this?

I've never heard that. What kind of dressig are you using? I know low fat ranch can be pretty nasty (depending on the brand) but I don't use that. I use Fat free Italian dressing (Kraft brand) and it tastes pretty good (kind of high in sodium though)

Yeah, I don't think theres anything wrong with it. If you think you have enough willl power to eats a salad w/o dressing for longer than a week I say go for it.

Red face Dressing

I really like just squeezing a lemon on my salad. Sometimes Ill add balsalmic or apple cidar vinegar...Some mrs. Dash and Im a happy girl. Ive heard that some of the ingredients in sugar free stuff will bloat you...but fatfree? Nah...it just tastes bad.

check the ingredients for high frutose corn syrup. usually low fat dressings take out the fat (oil) and replace it w/ HFCS, a low grade sugar, that would accually be worse.

some cases yes.. walden farms makes great calorie/sugar/carb free dressings they are also gluten free. they use a mix a vinegars and spices, and cellulose gum (for consistency) and sweeten it with sucralose (splenda) i dont use them all the time.. but once or twice a week ill enjoy a big salad without all the calories.. for a regular basis i would stick to some olive oil and vinegar..
