I bet Deluxe is less than that due to lighter frame, hope Deluxe owners pitch in. BTW, you can save a buck or two by ordering directly from manufacturer. http://www.flexcart.com/members/fatb...lt.asp?cid=101

Ya and it also looks like you can get the econo ghr that elitefts sells but with the option for a split pad. Good find. Will be ordering this week!

Has anybody else ordered from them?

Some update on Williams Strength vs EliteFTS GHDs.

Apparently Williams Strength makes equipment for EliteFTS as they are nearly identical with minor differences.
Williams Strength Deluxe come with plain metal painted foot and step up plates and upholstered rollers.
EliteFTS model has aluminum covers on both and rollers (accordingly to William Strength rep) are plain foam.

When I contacted EliteFTS, Matt said he can check that I get upholstered rollers, and even gave me better price. Very nice and kind person, btw. So I just pulled the trigger.
It's still unclear to me whether on all new EliteFTS Deluxe models upholstered rollers are standard issue or you need to ask for it, the picture on web site shows them upholstered, while on video they are plain foam.

I guess double checking with sales rep when ordering wouldn't hurt.

Thought that this info could be somewhat helpful for people sitting on GHD fence.

Matt is easy to work with, I know I have no complaints with my collegiate GHD from elite. Great piece of equipment.

might have found it for $325 or $350. seems like a good deal at that price, and even at 499?

I've never seen that one, but it has a lot of potential and looks well built. From what I can tell in the picture, I like it. It has a big semi circle split pad, big footplate, another plate for mounting/dismounting, removable handles, professional pop pins, and it moves on a stainless bar....so I assume (but could be wrong) its got bearings in it.

The only thing I see that I don't like is the roller pads are the cheaper foam rubber pads and it appears in the pics that the metal is lightweight...but I could be way off on that. If its built well, that may not even be an issue anyway.

If you can try it out and are familiar with how to do the exercise properly...put it through its paces. If it seems solid when you're out in space and functions properly....I'd say you're getting a good deal at $350 or so. If its a good GHR, then yes...its a good deal even at $500. Without a review from someone its hard to say though.

I was looking at Vulcan GHR when was doing my own shopping, it was slightly different model, they seem to keep changing them every month, not sure if this is good or bad, but at that time feedback on quality on crossfit board was not very encouraging.

Since this looks like the top ghd thread I'll add my 2c ....

I picked up a Pendlay Elite ghd and it works great. It is stable even at my height/weight. I'm not sure if having long legs makes it more difficult but I'm up to 2(count em') reps lol.

What I didn't realize is what a good ab machine this is. Before, I always did crunches and situp from a bench or the ground, but I've found that not having a surface for my back to rest again works abs soooo much better.

Mine must be a newer model because it has welded tube caps(no rubber feet) and the pads are a little taller. I'm going to weld in a bigger foot plate because my feet are way to big for those little things.

I have this GHD. The stock picture doesn't do justice to this model. It's built like a tank.
