Nationstates is an online political simulator where you make decisions that affect your nation and can have various unintended consequences as well.
I propose that we all create a nation and keep them going for a month as a competition to see who has better ideas (as far as the game's logic goes, anyways). Just make sure you adhere to your own political ideology!
So, who's in?
http://www.nationstates.net/nation=dalo_the_great
Things change whenever you make a decision on pressing issues. The way things start out for your nation, like with mine above, may not reflect your position. Give it time and the description will change to suit your ideology better.

Sounds interesting, but ultimately biased by the game designers. Reality will probably work differently than the way they program things to work. Real consequences will probably not reflect the designers biased belief of how they think or want things to work. For example, cutting taxes for major corporations does not create jobs, but if the game designer believes it does, then your political system will have vastly different results than reality.

Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can flow or it can crash. Well, they dont really give you much to start with as far as views and policies go... methinks it will take a while to get it to rreflect your "ideal " government.
I played this game when i was in hs... i am curious to see how my outlook has changed.Starting weight- May 14 2011- 184

"Life is but a game, And once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box. No matter our nobility, we all emulate the same end. So take no pride in it, for it is but an illusion, we will reach upon the point where we will be judged standing alongside those we have commanded. Whether or not we treated them fairly predicts our outcome."

It can, but it doesn't necessarily do it. Anyone who understands economics knows that and doesn't simplify things down to talking points the way politicians do. There's LOTS of things that affect the cost of hiring someone. The real wage, taxes, and regulations all affect it. Then there's also things like the cost of operation, which also affects whether a business will stay in a particular country or move to another.
Seriously, some people need to start learning some science or else we're just gonna keep having people make simplistic arguments and wonder why we can't seem to get a hold on sound policies.
edit - but the principle of your post is absolutely correct. It probably won't work like the real world and it'll be biased based on how the designers think the world works. And of course based on how people play (people might not play how they'd behave in real life)
