    ITT = 15 year old kid has most people beat with real science whilst everyone else relies upon marketing gimmicks that have not once been backed by hard science. The "anabolic window" was made up in order to sell post workout recovery drinks, just like many other products will make up some imaginary deficiency or other reason why you should buy that product.

    ITT= 15 year old kid reads some of the stickies, does not synthesize that variety of info correctly at all. Puts together thesis that almost makes sense, but at the same time, no sense. The posters ridicule because each has read all of the things he has and were intelligent enough to understand how it all works. We all know that nutrient timing doesn't matter; thus, whey consumption vs. no whey consumption is irrelevant (though real foods are always preferred). Young kids don't have to completely understand things right away, but they do have to learn a little respect.
    However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results - Dr. John Berardi

    He's actually correct about a lot of things (besides that retarded first statement, way to set yourself up for failure). Muscle protein synthesis is elevated to the greatest degree around 24 hours post-training. However, muscle insulin sensitivity peaks post workout. This doesn't necessitate a meal or shake by any means since one weight training session isn't glycogen depleting, but if you are deep into a cut, your glycogen stores may be lowered on a more chronic level, so having a postworkout meal isn't a bad idea (more for the carbs than the protein).

    I'll buy THAT.
    In my bicycling days, word was: if you're riding every day, its important to replenish the glycogen. If you only ride a few days a week, no biggie: normal eating will meet your needs.

    and that's even scarier.

    i don't know what's worse. someone who has absolutely no knowledge, and tries to tell others how to do things;
    or, the guy who has a bit of knowledge, and tries to tell someone how to do things.

    in the first example, unless the person listening is just as retarded as the person instructing, the advice will be laughed off as the ridiculous banter it is, and the person will be paid attention to no more.

    in the second example, the person listening might see a "good" nugget and roll with it, and keep coming back to the person instructing for more info. thinking he got good advice once, the listener may then be primed for a boatload of fallacies on which to structure his planned foundation.

    either way tho..

    i never learned how to ride a bicycle.
    i always found the unicycle more appealing - even if it took longer to get to my planned destination.

    There seemed to be an increase in outrageous posts in the past few days, so I was more alert than I would normally be.

    I have observed that the increase in outrageous posts is strongly correlated with DenseUnits increased activity in the supplement forum...
